Stiff and sore

Yesterday was branding day, beautiful day for it, too. About 60 degrees with enough wind to take away the smell of burning hair and singed skin. It was just the three of us, me, the husband, and our best friend. No one suffered any major war wounds to speak of, and the calves look none the worse for wear this morning. Just a few muscles complaining today is all. In a week or two, we can do it all over again at the best friend's place. Whoo-hoo!

Shelly, sometimes paying back a favor makes me feel better than the favor received. It's good to have good friends to help!

Methinks by the time you get down here to A-I, all our cows will be bred already. Bulls have been out since April 2nd, and I've seen 2/3rds of the cows and heifers bred already. (Yeah, I know, sometimes it takes more than one heat cycle for a cow to be bred, but most of ours do catch the first time.) But, I will spring for a cup of coffee for you. Let me know when you're coming.
