The late calving herd is winding down, but I saw 2 fresh ones, and another calving this AM.

Both of these were real fresh.

Tank and butte.

A couple turtles. Most dove in when I got close.

The deer weren't too concerned.

Still a few of these pesky @##&& left.

A very fresh fawn, just like we were talking about lately. It was so fresh it didn't know if I was it's mother, or just what was.

Tap, again, great photos! I personally think this is a framer.

You certainly live in beautiful country, and have lots of photographic talent to show it off!

Happy Memorial Day!

Cheers---

Great pictures. :D What type of camera?

Thanks milkmaid. My camera is a Kodak Easy Share C875. It works ok, but doesn't have the small viewfinder, and it took me a while to get used to just using the screen. Also, it is not a camera to take action shots with, as it is slow processing pictures. It's best attribute is the compact size. It is very handy to pack along with me. Oh yes, and it is hard on batteries. I use the lithium and have better luck. Maybe I just take to many pictures?????

Oh, TTB, I always put the disclaimer in when somebody comments on this part of the world that not all of it is mud buttes and badlands. Wouldn't want you disappointed. Us picture takers can be selective about what we show sometimes. lol.

Darn near the whole state must be green and pretty this year....amazing what a little moisture will do. We've been getting a few late ones still as well, hardly any left, but figure they'll make good yearlings.

Tap, I came by your place today, country looks so good.
Were those your bulls to the north of your dads place, right
by the highway and as I recall, kinda
by a little bridge? If so, they looked darn good. Better 'n
that even!!!!

And are the signs by the road, new? How do you read your brand?
Anyway, they sure are nice signs.

Yes FH, those are our young bulls. We just bought a couple of them for our late calving cows, and they needed to pick up a bit, so the grass will do them some good.

The signs are a year old or so. My son claims the one by our mailbox as his. The brand is called the same as our ranch name, and you know what that is I think.

Yur late calves are looking like they are the luckiest in the world to be born on green grass and sunny skies....I have to agree with you Tap...that us picture takers always try to get the good pretty shots...although there are some places that you sure don't want the neighbors to see..ha ha ha...I do try and avoid the junk piles...the nasty blowouts...the fence that needs mending...stuff like that..but they do exsist on our place too...Beautiful shots. I love this time of year for pictures with all of Mother Natures babies...It's great!
