As was predicted.

The Standard & Poor's 500 Index finished election day 0.8pc higher at 1,193.57, its strongest close since May 3. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished at its highest level since April 26, closing up 0.8pc at 11,188.72.

With frustration rising at the economy's anemic recovery, investors appear hopeful that the Republicans likely seizure of control in the House of Representatives and hefty gains in the Senate may force policies more supportive of the companies that need to create the missing jobs. With Americans still voting in the far west of the country, the Republicans were already chalking up significant victories further east.

You have to wonder how long it will take to get investor confidence back - fully. Everyone felt that things would improve with the election. It should certainly help the elderly who depend on investments.

Actually Gold and Silver hasn't changed in value, it's just an indicator of how worthless the dollar is becoming.

You might want to watch Glenn Beck tonight, I don't have cable and only get to see the clips on Fox News.com. He has a 15 day scenario laid out with Day 1 being when China says no more loans.
