Stolen school buses

Glen Beck is doing a series on the perfect day for a terrorist on CNN or Headline news or something tonight. One of his thoughts is that possibly the terrorists are going to hold a school or schools hostage. One of his evidences is these stolen buses.

School Bus Thefts Concern Houston Authorities
Posted on August 27th, 2007 by News Admin
Houston Police Department’s Criminal Intelligence Division, the FBI and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are all concerned about a large number of school buses that have been stolen in the Houston area over the last several months.

An 11 News investigation uncovered that 17 large, yellow school buses were stolen recently from various charter schools, business schools and private bus companies. Not one has disappeared from HISD.

Most, if not all, were taken from locations on Houston’s north side. One off west Tidwell, another from the Lopez bus company off Melrose and Berry Street.

Timothy Williams is the superintendent at the High School for Business.

“We were going to park them over there inside the gate. Until we could get a gate around the facility, but we really didn’t think that was going to be a problem,” said the charter school’s superintendent.

While it is important to point out that there is no known threat, HPD’s Criminal Intelligence Division mentioned in a recent e-mail that these school bus thefts are a homeland security concern.

One detective told 11 News a bus might have been stolen and taken across the border to Mexico.

Nevertheless, since the Sept. 11 attacks the thought of terrorists targeting children has certainly been discussed by the Department of Homeland Security. And that is why finding out what happened to these buses is very important.

Published reports in 2004 said that the U.S. Military found information in Iraq pertaining to U.S. schools.

Reportedly, there have been hundreds of thefts of school bus radios in the United States.

With all that being said, 11 News was reminded Monday by law enforcement officials that school buses remain one of the safest ways to get to and from school. In fact, nationwide, school buses transport nearly 24 million kids to school daily.

And bus drivers all around the country are being trained regularly to look out for suspicious people and activities.

But we continue to allow millions of foreign invaders yearly to walk across our borders and almost 20 million foreign invaders who illegally entered or overstayed their visas - that we have no idea who they are- stay in our country with little stepped up effort to find them...  :(

It becomes hard to believe GW's crock of bull about having to stay in Iraq and fight the terrorists- when he seems to show so little concern about the back home folks being invaded by terrorists and foreign invaders...

If we truly are in a "war on terror" why shouldn't we expect some protection of the home front...We had more womens auxillary Coast Guard during WWII than we have active duty now...During that time -We had almost double the Coast Guard as we now have military in Iraq...We had about the same number of Border Patrolmen in 1944 as we have today....

The US citizen has been asked to give up many freedoms and even some constitutional rights under the Patriot Act and Homeland Security----But God forbid if the politicians are asked to do their sworn duty and secure our borders--it might interfer with one of their buddies making a fast buck..... :( :(

They are possibly setting things up to take our children hostages at schools and your comment is that Bush has failed you? I think at this point how they got into the country is uninteresting. I just hope that the school bus deal turns out to be something other than some of those loving islamists holding our kids hostage like they did in Russia.

Oh I know very well the point-- but my point is if you don't let them in by the thousands- you wouldn't be having the problem in the first place...

Like they say- its not the gun that kills someone-- its the person behind it...We need much more effort to keep the folks bent on doing these terrorist acts from walking unchallenged into our country.....

I think you two are so blinded by your hate for President Bush that your viewpoint is invalid. You go wildly off topic on every thread. Oldtimer has 3 viewpoints.
1. Close the Canadian border
2. Close off imports from China
3. Close the Mexican border

The fact that none of his 3 wishes come true are all President Bushs fault.

You KRaven have 1 viewpoint.
1 Bush did it.

Regarding the house being broken into, I doubt either of you grandstanders care a wit about the whole deal. My proof of that would be that neither of you know where the 9/11 terrorists entered the country from. I did some reasearch for you. They entered legally.

Identity and Immigration Status of 9/11 Terrorists

According to authorities, all of the hijackers who committed the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks were foreigners. All of them entered the country legally on a temporary visa, mostly tourist visas with entry permits for six months. Although four of them attended flight school in the United States, only one is known to have entered on an appropriate visa for such study, and one entered on an F-1 student visa. Besides the four pilots, all but one of the terrorists entered the United States only once and had been in the country for only three to five months before the attacks.....

Lets get off the border patrol topic and back to the school buses being stolen. Do you think it's linked to something the terrorist are going to do? If so and they take 10 schools hostage, what will the reaction from average Joe American be?

Well Bush sure hasn't shown much thought about our safety, to me -- from handing out these visa to anyone that wants them without checking backgrounds- nor following up on them if they've left the country or not-to letting anyone that wants to walk into the country do it- to the Chinese food and products which are tainted and could be dangerous to children-- to these trucks-- which the Homeland Security testified it doesn't have the ability to safety inspect or security inspect either trucks or drivers....

Dorgan, a North Dakota Democrat, cited a fiery truck crash in Mexico over the weekend in warning that the program would put American drivers at risk.

At least 34 people were killed Sunday night when a dynamite truck struck another vehicle in northern Mexico, triggering an explosion that engulfed over vehicles.

Homeland Security said it could/would only inspect 1 out of 10 of the loads coming across the border-- the other 9 could be carrying dynamite or contain nukes for what GW knows or seems to care...

One detective told 11 News a bus might have been stolen and taken across the border to Mexico.

As far as the bus's they're probably mostly all being used ferrying passengers on a bus route in Southern Sonora or around Mexico City for a company owned by a Mexican politician-- just like the new trans-am we had stolen from a car lot that when we found it was being used by a state Policia Chief as his patrol car....Didn't even bother to remove any of the VIN numbers...

GW has the opportunity to greatly heighten our security- and greatly reduce the drug problem by just requiring some border/port security on everything/everyone entering the country-- but he won't do that because it might interfer with his buddies stuffing their pockets from some cheap import :(

RR-- Why do you think GW is going against the wishes of the population he was sworn to protect- and refusing to shut down the foreign invaders, tainted and dangerous imports, and illegal drugs....

I think "average Joe American" will blame George W. Bush. The buck stops with him. He has had years to protect our borders, to improve our ability to identify terrorists and for Federal agencies to communicate with each other, to tighten up visa approvals. Instead he spent our money on a war in Iraq.

I'd sure hope we havn't stooped to such stupidity. I'd hope our thought process would be more related to the thousand school kids held hostage.

Maybe true BUT have the administrations prior to this one had such overwhelming public opposition to such an immigration policy???

You are correct-Clinton was as bad - but until 9/11 we couldn't awaken the country/politicians to the terror problem to get the backing to do anything-- now they (politicians and public) are demanding it-- and GW has that backing from Congress- but stymies every effort to increase our own homeland security against foreigners-- which is shown with the slow progress on the Border fence that Congress authorized the money to build....

What burns my butt- is that under the guise of Homeland Security- under the Patriot Act which eroded the Constitution-- he has implemented (or tried to) every type of mandatory ID there is to US citizens--feed, livestock, citizens, etc..- , and has imposed intrusions of airport and transportion strip searches and security checks- warrentless searchs, warrentless wiretaps- etc. etc on the US public ( which most accepted as a part of the war on terrorism)-- but refuses to do anything with intercepting the foreign invaders, terrorists, or the items they could be bringing in at our borders-- which is what 80% of our citizens have asked for....

Heathen rule 101: don't assume you know what Christians think. I certainly don't worship President Bush.
He's the President. Gore would have been worse. Having said that I'd rather have a lot of people in office but he's the one that's there. I'm going to get to pick between Guiliani and Clinton. I'll pick Guiliani but I can't stand him. He sure beats the alternative. No school kid hostage comment Kolan?

well, which edge of the sword do I want on this one????

I think every effort needs put into findiong these buses, if I were in Houston, I would hate illegals even more than I do now, and I would be home schooling my kids until this crap was solved.

BUT while doing that, I would be pushing to lock this country up tighter than hell. we need to be less touchy feely in this country. if we line up and shoot everyone crossing illegally, then eventually they will get the idea, or run out of people to send across!

this sound mean, but to get a point across, you need to paint a very vivid picture. landmines, heatseeking missles, some sort of huge "whack-a-mole", anything other than, come on over, we got free health care if you can't speak english!

Scarry thought,..but hold that thought...was the kids as bad as the mommies ????

If so and they take 10 schools hostage, what will the reaction from average Joe American be?

I think the reaction from "Average Joe American" would be nuke the b" tards..

But it wouldn't be anything compared to the "reaction" of the mothers of these "precious little babies"...

I have yet to know one mother who didn't think at one time or another that her child wasn't a princess, or prince...and woe be to the fool who said otherwise...

let alone "after" a tragedy has struck her child... I have known bad rotten kids after getting messed up,.. elevated to saint hood, by their mommies,... and as I said woe be to those that challenge that mother's thoughts of that child...

So stupid Muslims...if your looking for a reaction from "average Joe American".... and your stupid enough to "mess with",.. Little Miss America,..or Daddy's little girl,..or god forbid,..Mommie's little man... then the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan will be a flat seething caldron of Nuclear bile...

But that's if daddy ("average Joe America") runs the next little war after you mess with our children..which he won't because unlike you, he's seen Mrs. America's wrath...and it ain't pretty...

So if your stupid enough to mess with our children, don't expect US men to stand in the women folks way... (we're not that stupid)...

What will happen to you,..God only knows,...(but it ain't going to be pretty)...as for Allah...don't expect help from him,.. I doubt he is that stupid either... he's seen Hell, and it ain't nothing compared to the wrath your about to dump on yourself...

so if you have one brain cell left....don't be stupid enough to start a war with her....Mrs. America..she just doesn't fight fair..

So ladies... ...I will give my life to save our children...

but once they start picking on your child...

I'm staying the hell out of the way

...when she says,...

Praise the Lord, Pass the Ammo
