over the last few moths liberals have said stop and frisk is racist,.. they cite statistics...
while other liberals in the same community say it is because it is more prevalent in high crime neighborhoods.. but can't seem to answer the statistics..
well I have an answer..
now looking at the numbers of crimes dealt with in percentages it seems unwarranted... but what about the deterrent factor,.. can that be measured?
if the 528,000 hadn't been arrested.. would they just commit more crime? probably.
if the 5,940 guns were not taken off the criminals would they have been used in a crime...
what about the 300 that were already used in a crime.. had they not been taken would they have been used once? twice or a half dozen more times before the criminal was caught?
and then there are the 66,000 other weapons and contraband..
would not stopping,.. or frisking has it made a difference.. I would think we would be looking to Chicago,.. or some other city to see the answer..
I've been stopped before.. dozens of times.. some seemed a bit trivial..
I get frisked at the airport all the time.. my crime.. flying to my destination.. I don't like it.. but I haven't filed any complaints..
I guess we can either have security or freedom... law abiding citizens want a balance between the two... criminals don't want to be stopped and frisked.. it often takes away their "freedom"...

analysis of paperwork from 4.4 million stops found guns were confiscated at a rate of roughly one-tenth of 1 percent, or 5,940 firearms.
Knives and other contraband were nabbed in about 1.5% of stops, taking 66,000 weapons off the street
And 12% of the 4.4 million stops during that time period — roughly 528,000 — led to an actual arrest or a summons
“Over the last decade, we have taken 70,000 to 80,000 weapons off of individuals who were stopped for questioning by police,” Browne said. “Seven thousand to 8,000 of those weapons were illegal guns.”
And, he added, nearly 300 guns seized last year had been used in prior crimes.
