Have a crazy problem with one of my cats. The stupid thing dipped her tail into a scented candle, now the tip of her tail is coated in wax.

Does anybody know how to get wax out of hair?

Put a Lastorator Band on the tail (Bobcat)
Works good on adult dogs _ Find a joint in the tail _ when the tail starts to loose hair cut it off behind band _ No Pain _ and Vets Want BIG $$$ to cut it off and is Painful to Dog for weeks...

So now you have a blind, clawless, apparently clueless, cat that dips her tail in hot wax-and can't even catch mice--- and a crippled, soon to be costly, corgi that will get high centered in the first snow drift...

OY VEY- what a menagerie  :p

How to Remove Wax from Pet Fur
By LucieGirlie

Rate: (5 Ratings)

Recently my cat fell into a candle warmer, and spilled wax all over herself. After making sure she wasn't burned, I was unsure how to clean her entire right side which was covered with wax. It took awhile, but now she's as good as new.

InstructionsDifficulty: Moderate
Things You’ll Need:
Fine tooth comb (a flea comb works well)
Towel
Warm water
Washcloth
Step1First, give your cat a bath in warm water. It's not necessary to use soap, all you need to do is warm the wax up. Don't make it too hot, but make it warm enough to make the wax begin to soften
Step2Leave the cat in the water for a few minutes. If you have a cat that hates water, such as mine, this can be difficult. Use your hand to scoop up water and dump it over the wax covered fur. Once the wax has sufficiently softened, wrap your cat up in a towel and try to dry him/her off.
Step3Leaving the cat wrapped in the towel (to prevent scratching) use a fine tooth comb to begin combing the wax out of the fur. If it's badly coated, hold the fur near the root so it doesn't hurt the cat. You will need to frequently clean the brush, as waxy fur will build up very quickly.
Step4Continue combing until the majority of the wax is out. If the wax hardens, get a warm washcloth and place it over the spot for a minute or so and continue combing. Soon you cat will look a little less waxy and will be as good as new!
