I don't know how many of you reallize it, but today is the longest day of the year...Days get shorter from now on...

Up here sunrise is 5:06AM- sunset 9:11PM- which gives us over 15 hours of daylight...

Makes it hard to keep with the regular 9PM bedtime when the sun is still shining...

In Western Montana we'd all still be in the arena team roping*
at 10 pm because it was still daylight. Wouldn't get home and get
to bed til at least 11. Sun comes up later over there and goes
down later. Since I'm a night person, that suited me fine.

*not me~I just ran the chutes or announced the ropings.
(didn't want anyone to get the idea I could rope anything)~

OT, you've obviously been gyped in the daylight department. Sunrise here today in paradise was 4:15 am, sunset 9:56 pm.
Don't know if you are aware of it, but sunrise tomorrow will be earlier than it was today, and sunset has been getting earlier for awhile.

FH,

When I was single I used to get in on those late ropings. They don't even start until after the sun goes down, and end whenever. My Dad would always get up at 4am and meet me getting to bed- he'd say sleep fast 'til daylight. Also seemes like he'd come up with the crappiest work to do when I only got a couple hours sleep. If I'd been embibing in the spirits, I guarantee a waterer supply would need to be dug out or boot pit cleaned.

I'm old and civilized now and don't even make the scene, but my son has been wanting us to haul (drugs to the addict).

Reminds me of the lady in ranch country who said her son couldn't possibly have been out drinking the night before, because he was drinking glasses and glasses full of water the next day.
