Rainbow Mountains in the fog. The bustling burg of Anahim Lake is straight ahead and 15 miles away.

Freeloaders at the feedbunk. This stackyard is too tired to repair and will be changed to 6 logs high by next fall.

i was just talking to my dad on the phone bitching about the deer and my hay stacks the same time i clicked on your post. i told him, "nevermind, gcreek has it worse"(dad follows ranchers, so he knew who i was talking about). maybe a few deer aren't so bad after all :???:  your pictures make it look like its winter up there... :D

You definitely live in Gods Country, your area is absolutely beautiful. :)

Yep, a higher fence with a lot of heat would most likely keep the "free loaders" out, for a while anyways.

At the right time of the year they are as good as good beef. No need for seasoning to kill the game taste.
Old bulls in early Oct are a little different story.

Pretty pictures, Gcreekrch. Even the moose are stately and pictureseque for those of us who don't have to put up with the messes they make.

I have always heard that elk was about as good as beef but I have never heard anything much about moose. A lot probably depends on the preparation.
