Supporting the troops

Hardly. Excerpts; link below; my emphasis.

"U.S. military troops with severe psychological problems have been sent to Iraq or kept in combat, even when superiors have been aware of signs of mental illness, a newspaper reported for Sunday editions.
The Hartford Courant, citing records obtained under the federal Freedom of Information Act and more than 100 interviews of families and military personnel, reported numerous cases in which the military failed to follow its own regulations in screening, treating and evacuating mentally unfit troops from Iraq.
In 1997, Congress ordered the military to assess the mental health of all deploying troops. The newspaper, citing Pentagon statistics, said fewer than 1 in 300 service members were referred to a mental health professional before shipping out for Iraq as of October 2005."

"Twenty-two U.S. troops committed suicide in Iraq last year, accounting for nearly one in five of all non-combat deaths and was the highest suicide rate since the war started, the newspaper said.

‘Some service members who committed suicide in 2004 and 2005 were kept on duty despite clear signs of mental distress, sometimes after being prescribed antidepressants with little or no mental health counseling or monitoring. Those findings conflict with regulations adopted last year by the Army that caution against the use of antidepressants for “extended deployments.”

Weeding out the weak, who cares.
Oh my, 22 have killed themselves, that's an acceptable loss considering how many of US are there.
The problem over there is these rules of engagement, troops worrying if they're going to get in trouble when they return fire, weather or not it was a legal action. We shouldn't have to worry about that crap, war is hell, that's why we go as a last resort.

Who cares? Their mothers, fathers, sisters, children, wives, me.

We didn't go to Iraq as a last resort. There were weapons inspectors on the ground in Iraq. If they had been left to do their work, the world would have known Iraq didn't have WMDs and almost 2500 American soldiers would still be alive, not to even mention the 35,000 dead Iraqis. But Bush wanted the war, so he suggested they get out or risk being killed in the invasion. Don't try to paint this war as justified. It isn't.

And just how long were those precious little inspectors there? Did they have FULL ACCESS? You are still blindly throwing out the liberal talking points that are faxed out each day.

ITS TIME FOR A NEW MORE ORIGINAL THOUGHT FROM YOU DIS!

You can drop that line about the weapons inspectors that President Bush told to get out because it still doesn't hold water. EVERYONE including prominent demo-crats thought Iraq had WMD's, where they are now, I'm not sure and neither are you. You can hind behind the assumption that our President wanted this war, but many many others did too. He was given authorization to go to war! Your rhetoric of Bush lied is really getting old. Propaganda works, I'll give you that, but I don't think its working at this particular discussion board.
