The talking head experts (CIA-Military) on FOX news tonight now say that it is not only civil war over religion, but tribal warfare too...And they say they are not even sure that dividing the nation into 3 segments (Sunni, Shiite, Kurdish) will work anymore because of these 700 year old tribal feuds that are rearising-- but it was probably the only chance we had...

FOX is also reporting that all 3 reports coming out next week are advising that the US needs to turn more of the situation over to the Iraqui government/military....Which you have to wonder about when they are also reporting that the Iraqui Police stood by and watched as the Shiite militia drug 6 Sunnis out after they left worship and doused them with kerosene and burned them alive- and then burned down 3 mosques

You sure get Giddy when you find some bad news about Iraq don't you? Do you actually pray for bad things to happen over there or do you just set outside looking for shooting stars to make a wish?

Do them troops you send cookies to know how orgasmic you get when you find a piece showing how bad they have it in Iraq?

Have you ever posted a thread on here showing the good that the troops have did or commending them?

a minus.....I'm not giddy over anything....but hoping those of you who say that things are GREAT in Iraq.... it's just the media making bad things up, etc... will OPEN YOUR EYES and see that it gets worse every day.

If I had posted this from CNN...ya'll would have screamed ' liberal media at it again'....so I took it from the the most sainted of conservative news sources....FOX!

the "recent" spat of vilence seems bad....and is.....but.....

I saw a report on the vilence, in sadr city....by the account of the reporter and the soldier she was interviewing, that the violance is a result of the Shia prime minister (or president) ordering the removal of the road blocks....the Iraqi forces just left....

With "political meddling" such as this it will go on forever.....

giving then authority,...and then re-taking ground.....sounds to much like the wrong plan......

I am not in favor of thier struggling goverment "running things"......

there was to much "political correctness" in the "peace" part of this war....

MacArthur got it right in Japan.....we should have used "his plan"
.
MacArthur oversaw the occupation of Japan from 1945 to 1951 and is credited for making far-ranging democratic changes in that country
MacArthur may have made his greatest contribution to history in the next five and a half years, as Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers in Japan. While initiating some policies and merely implementing others, by force of personality MacArthur became synonymous with the highly successful occupation. His GHQ staff helped a devastated Japan rebuild itself, institute a democratic government, and chart a course that made Japan one of the world's leading industrial powers. The U.S. during his time was firmly in control of Japan to oversee its reconstruction, and MacArthur for a short while was effictively the interim leader of Japan. In 1946, MacArthur's staff drafted a new constitution that renounced war and reduced the emperor to a figurehead; this Constitution is in use in Japan to this day. MacArthur handed over power to the newly-formed Japanese government in 1949, and remained in Japan until relieved by President Truman on April 11, 1951.

Huge differences here that make all the difference. We dismantled Iraq's government totally and had to start from scratch. Japan kept its government and wasn't prone to civil war due to societal differences.

You would think that the operation planners would have known this and taken it into account. Some say they did and were ignored.

When FOX reports the bad news, you know it's really, really bad and there's no way left to spin it.
