swat team raids organic farm..

I read this on a few conservative sites.. a swat team raids a farm

and after digging a little it turns out it is a 3 1/2 acre commune sustainable living organic compound.

I have seen a few "organic farms".. usually so run down and overgrown that they are an eyesore... especially the dirty OWS types that congregate around them...

but.. this is not right either...

A SWAT team broke through the gates of a small Arlington, Texas farm and led a massive 10-hour search of the property. The residents were handcuffed and held at gunpoint while they watched more than 10 tons of their property hauled off in trucks.

probably ten tons of garbage.. but really handcuffed and a swat team.. it would be funny if it was an isolated case.. heck,.. it probably was funny.. and the swat team gained valuable training... but in reality it is still not right.. just use a bulldozer and dump-truck like most communities..

The Garden of Eden is a 3.5-acre farm that promotes a sustainable lifestyle. Back in February, Arlington started complaining about possible city code violations. Officials said that the grass was too tall, bushes were too close to the street, and chopped wood wasn’t stacked in a government-approved manner. Basically, HOA-style complaints where no homeowners’ association exists.

The farm owners said they had corrected some of the issues and challenged others, requesting meetings with the city to work out an amicable agreement. Early the morning of August 2, the government responded with the SWAT raid. Officers carried search warrants alleging that the farm might be growing marijuana, but none was found. The search warrant, signed the day before the raid, gave police the pretext to enforce the city’s “code violations” on private property.

"They came here under the guise that we were doing a drug trafficking, marijuana-growing operation," owner Shellie Smith said. "They destroyed everything." She said that officers shielded their nametags so they couldn't be identified and didn’t produce a warrant until two hours after the raid started.

"I think every single right we have was violated," he said. "Every single one."

maybe they exaggerated about the swat team..
The police department says it conducted the operation with dignity, professionalism and respect. Sgt. Chris Cook told News 8 the residents were handcuffed for about 30 minutes and SWAT cleared the scene in 45 minutes.
On August 2, Arlington police officers executed a separate search warrant at Smith’s property on Mansfield Cardinal Road in reference to the narcotics complaints. Members of APD’s tactical unit assisted in the execution of this search warrant to secure the location so that narcotics detectives could safely enter the property. Several people on the property were initially handcuffed, as is standard procedure in narcotics investigations. Once it was safe to do so, they were un-handcuffed within 30 minutes and allowed to conduct their daily business around the property, including the opportunity to leave the premises if they so desired. In fact, a couple of residents did leave the property. No cultivated marijuana plants were located on the premises. Narcotics detectives and members of the tactical unit cleared the scene within 45 minutes.

ok so the police admit it was a swat team..

maybe it is time to get rid of both the swat teams and so called organic sustainable farms..  :?

I've got organic okra standing now as it's the only thing that has survived all the rain we've been getting.

Didn't Jigs tell you not to overdo that *rain dance back when you were having a drought?

just for fun,..
Use an old couch and a bunch of pallets, and an ample amount of manure to build a dike around it.. call city code enforcement,.. and put in an anonymous complaint.. rant about drugs and dirty hippies

sit back and wait for the swat team to attack.. it aught to be a riot...
