Hi all. I have this filly that is suffering terribly from what I think is sweet itch. She has rubbed off alot of hair on her neck, tail head and hind quarters. It is so raw it is bleeding and oozing puss. I have taken her to the vet but she doesn't seem to eager to giver her a shot to help with the itch. She did give me a medicated shampoo, iodine spray and some anti-biotic type powder to mix with her feed. The poor girl is so miserable and sore that she has a hard time putting here head down to graze. I have put here up in the barn to minimize scratching against fence posts and trees but she still rubs on the barn posts. I am bathing here twice per day as instructed by the vet but I would like to do something to ease the itch....any ideas?
