The "drought" that began here late last year was broken with 3" of rain in the first 2 weeks of May. That's a good thing.
But now it won't quit. We are getting around 1" a week since then and while it is certainly soaking in nicely, we can't cut hay. There was one good week around the May 24 weekend and most of the dairy guys got their haylage off in that window.
My orchard grass is over waist high and getting hard. Alfalfa's in bloom. Timothy grass is heading out. The 15 day doesn't look any better. :?
But everything is green, we are all healthy and there's plenty to eat so life is good. What's a bit of over-ripe hay against all that?
