The weather has felt like spring lately. In the 50s and clear. This range is about fifty miles from home and has a lot less snow than we do at the house. This winter range is in the middle of Utah and is orchard country. We call it the banana belt as it is always warmer over there. I was riding with a neighbor today helping with his tagging and banding. He's a great neighbor and always is helping me out so i was happily returning the favor. I had a blast and would do this all day everyday if i could. My dang day job keeps getting in the way!

It's just a little "multi-tasking" cowboy style! I also was talking on the cell phone, reading the ag report and getting a manicure

Good pictures. Looks like a fun time was had by all, and you got quite a bit done, to boot. Can't beat a deal like that.

It's fun to see how different people do the same jobs. Here we tag our calves if they are born in the morning they get a tag in the afternoon. They are still new enough we just walk up and grab a hind leg and throw them down.

I love seeing this stuff, thanks for posting the pics. Wish I could learn to ride & rope to work the cattle, tho we have so few it'd take more time to get the horse ready than to do the job. I'd better learn to walk & chew gum first anyway.

Where the cattle are calving is a long ways from the house. They are checked weekly and a week old calf doesn't stick around to sign autographs! They are in a 1500 acre pasture and have to earn their livin'! With the numbers that the neighbors run, it's a must. We tagged 30 or so yesterday and maybe we'll get that many next trip. Whatever we don't get will get a tag when they work the calves before going on the mountain in May. It's way easier to do it this way than try and pair them up as the get off the semi. Just a little info if ya was wonderin'! Ya'll be good 8)
