It doesn't look much like a hot dry sandy desert, but I will take your word for it. They are nice clear pretty pictures, and the cows look to be in good fleshy condition. The rider is tougher than I am, to be wearing a hat in the five degrees. I like to be comfortable when I am cold. :)

Thanks for the pictures.

It takes three good days to get them home. The first day we left the ranch at daylight and made it to a holding corral about 5 p.m. We had a big bale waiting for them there. Day two was from 8a.m. to 4 p.m. to another drift fence/ holding area and more hay. Day three was on into town and had them home by 3 p.m. We used to bring them home in october and just camp with the cows. Then we picked up some private lease and are able to keep them out longer. The snow came really deep and made for a couple interesting days getting them all together to go home. We took 123 across the desert and the trip is right at 55 miles. We stayed in Delta, Utah (Home for the Cows) everynight and trailered back and forth. I live in Vernon, Utah, a little town north of Delta about 70 miles. We are 5th generation ranchers and feel priviledged to carry on the tradition. Hope to post more in the future. Thanks for your kind words!

Great pictures!! I was hoping to see some warm weather no snow pictures. Nope........Natta....... Doesn't help with this frigid weather we are having.....

I also enjoyed your pictures, Leanin, but I agree with Katrina, my desert experiences are the Kalahari and Namib deserts, so I was expecting warm pictures :)

We live on the edge of the Great Basin in Utah. Our average rainfall is about 14 inches. It is truly a desert! The storm that dumped the snow pictured gave us 3 1/2 feet on our ranch and mountain. The desert between the ranch and Delta, Utah where we winter and calve, got 6 to 8 inches. That usually happens once or twice a winter. I'll take ya'll some summer pictures and "prove" it really is a desert! :D

14 inches of rain. WOW. I bet most of Southern saskatchewan didn't get that much last year, :D

If they are a desert what does that make it here??? Our average is 10 and we only got 5.4 last year :???:
