Tax Cuts run out

Heard a guy crunch some numbers on the radio this morning. He was doing a rough estimate of how it would affect the lower income person if the Dem's let the Tax Cuts expire.

The lower income bracket now pay 10% but if tax cuts run out they will go back up to 15% which is a 50% increase in taxes for them. On a person making in area of $25,000 a year it worked out to them paying about $100 more per month in taxes.

Seems like Dem's would not want to hurt the poor by making them pay an extra $100.00 a month in taxes.

He also mentioned that last years tax revenues where up in Income Tax and Capital Gain taxes both. Due to the tax cuts. That Dem's just can not understand that when people make more money in the end there will be more Taxes paid. I need to google and find some statistics on this part for further discussion.

As for me, I don't see this "booming economy" helping the working people in my area. Plants are announcing closings around here all too frequently, sending the jobs over to China for the most part. One thing that did bother me over the Christmas holiday was a program on TV that showed how some of the corporate executives would spend their Christmas bonus. The scenes were filme at some of the big time dept stores on Fifth Avenue and bonuses ranged anywhere from hundreds of thousands all the way up to 50 million for one executive, keep in mine these were just Christmas bonuses. Corporations can give these bonuses but scream about a minimum wage increase?????

Things seem to be doing pretty good around here, more people are working. New plant coming to town. Everyone owns more stuff my generation than they did my father or grandfathers generation. Multiple cars, multiple TVs. $100 tennis shoes.

People just want more. People like to fill sorry fore themselves because they decided to cut up in class or choose a job at McDonalds over finishing H.S. or a Job at walmart over going to college.

Isn't it great that we live in a country were a person can work hard, apply themselves and then go on in life and reach a point were they can get Million dollar Christmas bonuses. What other country can this happen in?

Time to Cowboy up and quit living the Socialist dream and accept the American Dream, the one were anyone can achieve fame and fortune if they work hard and follow their dreams.

You show me a person that makes Minimum wage and I will show you either a teen, a spouse with second income, or a person work a second job for extra money. Very few bread winners make Minimum wage. And if they do then I will show you a looser that worried more about partying in school or getting into trouble. There is plenty above minimum wage jobs out there for anyone that wants them.

I would be willing to make a bet with you that I could get you a job paying around twice the minimum wage withing 30 days. And I live in one of the poorest counties in KS with one of the highest unemployment rates.

I have downsized my business over the past years because good help was hard to find. And I pay twice Minimum wage.

Very good job, A+.

Was just visiting with a man in Miles City, Mt. yesteday that owns
a welding shop with an excellent reputation.

He said that if his kids didn't work for him, he'd board the business
up. He said you can't get anyone to work that is interested in the
job and wanting more than a paycheck. And he pays good wages,
wayyy above minimum.

My father was a union man all his life. He always stuck up for
the union (we'd go toe-to-toe on that, but neither of us backed down).
The last year he was a supervisior on building roads in Alaska, he called the Union Hall for men...what they sent him, he couldn't use. He was so upset that the quality of workers had slid so bad...could not believe what
had happened...and we know what they were paid relative to minimum wage.

Minimum wage is a political tool, nothing more.

Yea the Dem's know that most people really do not know or understand the complexity of the economy. So the Liberal politicians talk down to the people and tickle their ears. They tell the people, we will get you more money, tax only the rich, Free Medical, etc......the key here is the WE part. As long as they can sell this dream to Americans of all this free stuff and that it is as simple as making the rich pay the way for the poor. Then the people will need them, since it is the WE that is going to get it for them.

Liberals make you think you can not survive with out them, they are your only hope. So in return we will support a bigger government to help get all these things.
