Tea Party being "crushed"

OT, your sloganeering doesn't fit the situation. The tea party opposes oppressive government. Yes, taxation is government oppression. You pick some arbitrary date to suggest represents the tea party, but if you're going to do that, go back to the constitutional foundation. Again you demonstrate your confusion about tea party principles.

He's not the least bit confused. He's a liar and a bigot.

OT is correct, the non socialists, pro freedom guys better get togather. Can you imagine Kathleen sebelius being the governer of Kansas. In a 3 way race between 2 different flavors of conservatives and a socialist, the socialist prevailed because the Democrats voted party line and I hate to accuse them of this, but they presumably voted principle

yep.. the GOP establishment wanted a moderate in the last two presidential elections... and they BOTH lost..

isn't that just insane?

OT, when did this happen, and who did it?

"Actually it means they aren't brain dead- and wouldn't read Dr. Suess all day in Congress while the economy hangs on the edge-- and the country ends up losing money over a dog and pony show... "

Except that you lied OT. Cruz did not read Green Eggs & Ham "ALL DAY IN CONGRESS". It took only a few moments that night to read it to his girls.

Lying M----F'er!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, huffington liar to support OT the liar? So we have a quarum of deciept? When all the socialists couldn't challenge the many strongly held positions advanced by Cruz, they ignored them and deceitfully focused on a minuscule portion of Cruz's remarks.

OT, again you are caught in another lie. You sully these boards on a daily basis with your deciept and deception, and demean any honest participation here. For this reason, I urge the moderators of this site to offer an ignore button, we'll call it the OT button, that will allow a user to avoid any input from a particularly demeaning participant.

Dem says Cruz filibuster cost taxpayers 'hundreds of thousands of dollars'

By Pete Kasperowicz

"I wonder if he ever considered that," he added. "Like I said, it's anybody's right to speak, but you have to wonder about responsibility, about being responsible to the body and to the public at large."

Harkin estimated that the cost of running the Senate during Cruz's 21-hour filibuster was probably "hundreds of thousands of dollars at least."

Harkin said Cruz's speech was especially confusing because after at the filibuster, Cruz voted along with every other senator in favor of advancing the House-passed continuing resolution.

"Some things are really hard to grasp around this place, you know," Harkin said. However, Harkin acknowledged that he didn't spend much time listening to Cruz.

"You'll excuse me if I didn't pay a lot of attention to him," Harkin said..

Not only did the Cruz 21 hour dog and pony show waste hundreds of thousands $ in costs of keeping the Senate running for nothing ($182,000+ just in Senators salary alone) - but also arguably cost the whole country's economy Billions $ with the fear we would default....

Filibustering a resolution he then voted for :???: Pure personal egotistical dog and pony show- putting personal gain ahead of his country....

More Tea Party ignorance and theatrics that cost the country again... But the Bubba's and the Billy Bob's ate it up just as Cruz wanted

God forbid we ever get another President from Texas!!!!

OT, how would the government have spent the $182,000, if it wasn't "wasted" on the filibuster?

What got accomplished with that $182,000 :???: What good did keeping all the Senate staff and Senators staff available when nothing was happening...
Hopefully most of them are intelligent enough to read Dr. Suess themselves and don't need to be kept there (on salary) listening to Cruz read it...

you evidently have never been to DC.. nor really understand how it works.. (check with facebook someone over there might explain it in length)

MOST are on salary.. they get paid no matter what..

MOST do not stay late,.. let alone attend any of the sessions..

they are called before a vote and let known the time of the vote..

now for a few FACTS
As CSPAN pointed out to viewers during its coverage of Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) speech decrying the Affordable Care Act, his speech is not a filibuster because he is procedurally limited by a vote scheduled to take place at mid-day on Wednesday. Cruz, who began speaking at 2:41 p.m. ET on Tuesday, was still speaking Wednesday morning.

so he didn't change the time for or delay any vote,.. he just voiced his opinion..

Harkin said Cruz's speech was especially confusing because after at the filibuster, Cruz voted along with every other senator in favor of advancing the House-passed continuing resolution.

the house bill stripped funding for Obamacare...

With the end of Cruz's talkathon, as we noted earlier, the Senate will proceed to a vote on a bill passed by the Republican-controlled House that would avert a possible government shutdown next Tuesday — but only if Obamacare is defunded. The Democratic-controlled Senate is expected to strip the provision about Obamacare from the bill and send it back to the House.

if you liberals are so confused by this issue,.. then maybe you and harkin aught to read up and do a bit of research..

Once that hurdle was cleared, the rest of the votes were preordained. The Senate waived budget rules, voted to strip out the Obamacare defunding on a 54-44 party line vote, and passed the bill.

the extended speech was concerning defunding obamacare... and the house bill he voted for would defund Obamacare..

The original Lie by OT was that Cruz read Dr. Suess "All Day In Congress".

Cruz did not do that.  If the Dr. Suess reading took 2 minutes, how much did the Dr. Suess reading cost?

Plus, I don't believe Harkin for a minute. They (Dems) are all like you. LIARS!!

Now you are changing your original assertion. Your original assertion is an indistinguishable lie from your other dishonest posts. You've dismissed yourself from consideration as a shameless liar.

"On Capitol Hill, the Tea Party wing continues to drive the party’s agenda. Last winter, as House Republican leaders drafted their 'principles' for immigration overhaul, they largely disregarded the opponents of any form of legal status for immigrants in the country illegally, dismissing them as a loud but small minority.”
