Team Obama is contemplating as much as $2 trillion in TARP a

And in what may prove to be the biggest stimulus-package hurdle of all, news reports suggest that Team Obama is contemplating as much as $2 trillion in TARP additions to rescue the banking system in one form or another. That would be $2 trillion on top of the nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

Government spending, deficits, and debt creation of this magnitude is simply unheard of. So the added TARP money will surely imperil the entire stimulus package as taxpayers around the country begin to digest the enormity of these proposed government actions. Financing of this type would not only destroy the U.S. fiscal position for years to come, it could destroy the dollar in the process. What’s more, the likelihood of massive tax increases — which at some point will become front and center in this gargantuan funding operation — would doom the economy for decades.

Haven't we seen enough yet? Let's send this guy back to Illinios. I hear there is a vacancy for Governor there.

Yesterday when Congress was debating this- they said GW's term alone gave the US an $8 Trillion dollar debt when all the hidden costs are brought in...And indebted taxpayers for future costs of $50 Trillion...
Just think how much further ahead we could have been if he'd stayed in Texas and ran for President of Mexico instead :???:

OT, with a little war and some oil at $140 mixed in, I don't doubt it cost a bit to run the country in the last 8 years.

But what you're not getting is that you do not get out of debt by borrowing more. Read the article on Japan that Big Muddy posted yesterday. They expect with Obama's packages, the US will have a debt equal to 100% of GDP, by years end.

Why is the CURRENT government bound and determined to raise the federal debt and encouraging more personal debt, the exact same things that brought us to this point?

You know dang well that I was never a Bush supporter. Obama ran on "change" from Bush, and we're not getting it - and you continue to make excuses for him because "Well, Bush did...." Excusing Obama's crap on Bush's crap is irresponsible and doesn't cut it.

I gave Bush 4 years- and backed him as our President (even when I wasn't in full agreement) - to see what he could do.....When I was sure that he was wrecking the country- I spoke out--And I was correct as he was a total disaster to the country....

His policy/direction didn't work--put us on the edge of our country toppling...Tax Cuts for the rich, wide open unrestricted trade, trickle down didn't work in this age of no ehtics and runaway greed--- so now I'll give a new direction/policy the chance to work...

Funny- all the flagwaver "patriots" when they're following Bush's warmongering--but no flagwavers when it is supporting US business, US products, and US workers....

You were never sure of anything...and you weren't correct at all.

You simply forgot to take in to account that things were going fine until the Dems took over the House and Senate. THAT is when the disaster began.

You're just too damn stupid to recognize it and would lie about it even if you did see it.

How many times you been caught lying now? Hope you don't think that I have not been keeping up with them.........

WHAT'S REALLY funny is that Obama ordered "Wagyu" steak to feed those at his White House party the other night at over $100 per pound.

How's that for "Leading By Example"?

You Effen' idiot.
