one of the few benefits of being in the military is to better yourself.. and they offer many ways to do it if you put in the effort..

besides juggling an often grueling schedule you can take classes at a low cost..
when I was in, you had to attend classes, and get a decent grade.. and they would pay a portion of the tuition cost..

it wasn't free nor easy.. you often have to pay some of the fees, and all supplies and books. but most of us were able to take a class or two...

not any more... thanks to the painful in you face Obama cuts..

Tuition Assistance Programs Falling Like Dominoes – UPDATE

Stars and Stripes is reporting the Air Force has announced their plan to suspend TA. Airmen were told that applications for tuition assistance submitted after March 12 are likely to be rejected.

The Army announced last week that they were joining the Marines in suspending future tuition assistance program enrollments. The Army move is likely to affect more than 201,000 soldiers and save the Army $373 million. This amounts to what some in the DoD have referred to as a “rounding error” in the DoD’s annual budget.

Today the Coast Guard officially suspended TA for the remainder of FY2013. And, the Dayton Daily News is reporting that the Air Force may soon follow suit. According the article (posted on Military.com), Air Force officials said they will announce their decision this week.

the DoD has directed the service branches to “consider significant reductions in funding new tuition assistance applicants, effective immediately and for the duration of the fiscal year.”

funny how the liberals "reward" those who do nothing,.. yet penalize those who try to better themselves while serving our country...

thanks mr food-stamp president for screwing our vets again...
