?????Where are the Montanans on his staff?????

Tester formalizes key staff before taking office
By The Associated Press

HELENA, Mont. -- U.S. Sen.-elect Jon Tester formalized his top staff Wednesday, giving key jobs to the campaign staffers who helped him beat Republican Conrad Burns.

Tester, who takes office next month, said Stephanie Schriock will be his chief of staff. Schriock managed Tester's campaign, and previously was senior adviser for Gov. Howard Dean's Presidential campaign in Vermont and has worked for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Bill Lombardi, political director on the campaign, was named state director. Lombardi has previously been Democratic U.S. Sen. Max Baucus' communications director and was secretary of the Montana Senate when Tester was that body's president.

Tester's legislative director will be Bridget Walsh, his office said. Walsh, a lawyer, has spent the last six years working for Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida. Campaign spokesman Matt McKenna was named Tester's communications director.

Aaron Murphy, also on the campaign's communications staff, was named press secretary.

"We're putting together a staff that will be very responsive to Montana's needs," Tester said in a statement. "These folks are smart, hardworking public servants."

Tester said he will name the rest of the staff in the coming days, most before he takes office Jan. 4.

Tester beat Burns, a three-term incumbent, in an expensive and bitter race that came down to just a few thousand votes in the November election.

I do not know much about Tester. He may have decided it may help move things along if there were folks there that had some experience with how things work in DC. It is kind of a separate reality.

Yeah-- thats kind of how I looked at it-- I'll hold my criticism until I see who he puts into the in-state offices to be his Montana spokespersons/reps...

I don't know if there are many/any true Montanans that would want a D.C. job--sounds like more of a sentence than an opportunity....

At least Tester is from Motanta. Conrad was born and raised in a state far south of Montana. Somehow I bet you never had a problem with that did you???????? Hypocrite much?????????

One thing about it, bullhauler, it won't make any difference to you.
Conrad chose to live here many years ago and made many contributions
(pardon the pun) to this state throughout the years. He was one of
the ones who started the NILE in Billings all those years ago.

I guess we still can't condemn a man until he is proven guilty.

You are right I could care less one way or the other. But to complain about where one comes from and not to aknowledge where the former senator is from is pure Hypocrisy. BTW just why is a good CONSERVATIVE such as yourself worried about how much pork your state will lose without Burns in? You sound just like all the Dems in my state after Daschle lost.

Where did I ever complain about where Tester came from?

Conrad has brought money back to our university system.
He also had a lot to do with telecommunications in our state,
so we can be part of the 21st century.

Need I say more?

Nope you said it all FH. I guess is isn't pork if it benefits YOU. That is what is wrong with this country. Kind of like all the empires that have been built in my neighborhood on welfare. Then the same guys complain about government spending.

Bullhauler,
what is ticking people off is that Tester's whole campaign was based on taking Montana values to DC because Conrad and the whole bunch of them are crooks. First thing he does is hire people that are part of the problem. Anyone who is a Deaniac can not be taking Montana values into DC. If you want to make changes, you can't hire the same old crew.

Yup, you got that right, FH.

Needless to say, bullhauler, Conrad also brought in highway $$$ to improve our roads. We surely needed them, as the secondaries were too narrow.

I don't appreciate being called a hypocrite, bullhauler. I just don't like Tester, he is too much like B.S. I know how B.S. operates in Helena, behind closed doors.

If you don't appreciate being called a hypocrite don't be one. Your hatred for Democrats overcomes any rational thought from either you or your Husband. Kind of like someone else on here and their hatred of Bush.

Sir (or Ma'am)

I know some Dems, they aren't bad. I don't think so anyway. Quite a few teachers at the high school are, and they are pretty neat people, just a little wayward, politically. It's known how Brian Schweitzer (aka B.S.) works in his office, especially one-on-one. If he doesn't like somebody in office, , he will try to get them fired from their "real" job. I know. Talked to some of Tester's neighbors in Big Sandy, nothing good to be said about him. Sir, or Ma'am, I am not a hypocrite. I try not to post things based on "feelings". Sometimes they do come through. If that happens, I try to edit them or erase them completely. You keep my spouse out of this. He is not a hypocrite, either.
