Every spring most of the ranchers in our valley spend one day testing bulls. We started at 8 a.m. and finished at 6 in the evening. I believe we ran 130 head through the chute all told. Here is a picture of the only Murray Grey we saw. We teased the heck out'a his owner about him being a charolais! :D

Doc. Gowans spent the day checking "equipment" as my daughter calls it!   All the bulls got pretty blue eartags and had a shocking good time!

The south end of a north bound bull. We bring all the bulls to a central location which is Vernon Utah Livestock. They have a great set of pens and hydraulic chute to work natural inseminators!

These bulls belong to my friend from east of us 10 miles. He runs his cattle on the Strawberry mountains in north eastern Utah and winters them out here on the desert. This bull is 1/2 angus and 1/2 simm.

One of the stoutest, good hipped angus bulls I have seen. He came from Yardley Cattle Co. in Beaver Utah. RR Fitzgerald Ranch runs him.

A 5/8 angus and 3/8 maine bull from the same ranch. They retain ownership on their calves in a feedlot in Vernal Utah and do pretty well with them. Except for the Murray grey, three red angus and two herefords they were all black, including 2 black Salers and a couple black limos.

The owner of most of the preceeding bulls. Each bull owner or his hired hand got the fine job of probe installer/holder! Larry tried to bribe me but i was wearing my "nice" clothes and got out of it! He's either flipping me off or wiping guacamole off his other fingers. :???:

I did a little trading and ended up with this guy to use as a cleanup bull after we A.I. He's a little thin but tested good and oughta come around once he gets more and better groceries. He is a Traveler bull and he is 3. We plan to A.I. our cows to a Select Sires bull called GAR Integrity Reg.# 14222612 He has good numbers throughout his EPDs without chasing any one number. His maternal pedigree is good and he hopefully will throw moderate to smaller framed cows. I should'a taken more pictures but i was busy sortin' bulls and keeping the tub loaded.
