So any of you Texans going to vote in Democratic primary instead of Republican so you we can be rid of Hillary once and for all?

Might as well McCain is a done deal, make your vote count for something.

Not that this was a great cross-section of people or anything, but I heard Jim Thompson on South Dakota's KBHB give the results of a poll the radio station ran online.

79% for McCain
21% against him

Nationally the poll numbers are much more unfavorable for McCain...

McCain’s numbers 51% favorable, 43% unfavorable.

Aplus,

There's two things you have to remember. Texans living in Texas are a miniority. Secondly, Ann Richards lied and deceived us and amazingly still got aroud 35% of the votes in losing effort against dubya.

Don't you think though that if the republicans pulled together and voted in the democratic primary instead of the republican one that it might make the difference in a tight race between Obama and Hillary.

I guess if Hillary is going to win Texas in a land slide it would not matter, but how close those two are I am thinking it just might make a difference.

This is all assuming that you would rather have Obama than Hillary. I have mixed feelings on it myself.

CNN is reporting that Obama (who was down 20 points a month ago) has now tied it up in the polls in Texas....Dick Morris is predicting an Obama win- because he believes the young voters will turn out for Obama- while the old ladies (the heaviest group supporting Hillary) will not...

It's all tied up in Texas.

Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are running a tight race in Texas.

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll suggests the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination between Sens. Hillary Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois is a statistical dead heat in Texas, which holds primaries March 4.

In the survey, out Monday, 50 percent of likely Democratic primary voters support Clinton as their choice for the party's nominee, with 48 percent backing Obama.

But taking into account the poll's sampling error of plus or minus 4½ percentage points for Democratic respondents, the race is a virtual tie.

While I like seeing two liberals duke it out.. Be careful of what you ask for...

Hillary is beatable... Obama has taken on a cult-Hollywood style following... and doesn't have as many skeletons in the closet... (a gay friend maybe)... but few political skeletons...

He smokes... hey every one did it...

He gets cheap/free property... it was Rizco's fault...

it's starting to look like Slick Willies teflon... is passed to Obama...

add in for the hate America crowd,.. "this is the first time in their lives they can be proud of America"..

and the every negative thing you say against him is "racist" and he is going to be tough to beat in a general election....

Sadly, That is hurting him. We have had diversity crammed down our throats with all the gay acceptance and special benefits for those of R. When R is mentioned, negative feelings are abundant and the gay garbage is piled onto the feelings as well. It is more than a double whammy.

The R stuff was on the news again last p.m. Doggone it. If he is a good man that is all he needs to stand on. Why do the vocal racist minorities insist on bringing the R thing to the table? That's gonna hurt him, even if he is good. Just let a good person be a good person. We all know that prisons house people of all races and that there are good and bad from all walks of life. Being a good person has nothing to do with the R thing.

This is a good question, aplus. As I've mentioned before, I live in a rural part of Texas that is still full of yellow-dog Democrats. Everybody that runs in the local races runs as a Democrat because they're scared nobody will vote for them as a Republican.

Consequently, all of our local races are decided in the Democrat primary. Meaning that if we want any voice in those local races, we have to vote in the Dem's primary.

I normally skip a vote for the President's race in those primaries. But sometimes I vote for the novelty aspect - just to say that I voted for somebody. Like when I voted for Al Sharpton. I'm the only guy I know that can honestly say that he's voted for Reverend Sharpton for President.

This time will be different, though. I'm going to have to vote for Hillary hoping to help her win. Obama is a scary, scary candidate if you ask me. Anything I can do to help keep him from winning the nomination is what I intend to do.

It's really going to bother me to have to vote for her. But the worst part is having to make my wife vote for her, too. She's already said that she would vote for Hillary for the same reasons that I will. But...I'm afraid I'll end up having to hold a gun on her when it comes time.

You know I started this thread thinking that maybe it would be best if you guys got rid of Hillary. But in past two days I been reading a lot and watching Obama. Went back through his voting record.

I despise Hillary and would hate to see her President but I am really starting to see just how scary Obama is. I have no doubt Hillary would do a better job and be more center on issues than Obama.

I think I would vote as you will.

I also think the way the media is already treating Obama could be dangerous in the general election. He is by far the media, Hollywood and far left loons favorite and that is an up hill battle that could prove troublesome for McCain.

You voted for Sharpton, now voting for Hillary, you may be more scary than Obama....

Hillary and Obama ate up a lot of the news time last p.m. It seems that Emmit Smith endorsed Obama and that was a positive. All the local racist blacks were also endorsing him which is a negative. Hillary is out to brown nose the Hispanics and some of them are eating it up.

There was a little bit of coverage for the Republicans as well. Huck should do well. The rest of the U.S. is stating that McCain has already won and the Texas vote doesn't realy count. McCain might as well be a Democrat IMHO. Huck is going to take Texas just because, also IMHO.

As usual all the critics (the type the whiners on this forum love to quote) were out there poking everything with a stick. They'll be doing the thinking for the whiners and crying real helpless tears since they cannot do anything about anything except complain.

The doers and shakers didn't get any media coverage. I'm talking about the folks who are actually doing things about situations. They are too busy to spend all their time whining and criticizing everything.

Tonight there is some debate between loser 1 and loser 2 down in Austin and the media is all on it.

It seems like all of the conservative talk radio hosts are still feeling the same way you did, aplus. They seem to be gloating over Hillary's downfall. While I admit that the thought of that bitch crying herself to sleep at night makes me smile, I think this is a case of being careful what we wish for. I would much rather the Republicans have to face Hillary in the general election than Obama.

I know of a few die-hard Democrats - some of them 80+ years old that have never voted for a Republican in their life - who say they just can't force themselves to vote for Obama because of his color. But I think those will be more than compensated for by all of the new black voters that will come out of the woodwork.

On election day, they'll probably look like that news footage from the projects when New Orleans was flooding - all of the natives wading out with all the stuff they just got through stealing on their heads. I remember Sheperd Smith on Fox saying, "look, they're everywhere."

That's how it'll be on election day. They'll be everywhere. And since a lot of them probably won't even know how to vote, they'll probably be coached on how to vote a straight Democrat ticket just to make it easier. :(

Well aplus, it looks like you done hit the nail on the head. I just left a huge group of Republicans, they are all going to vote Demo and vote for Hillary.

Looks like the Demos are going to have one heck of a turn-out this year.
