79% for McCain
21% against him
McCain’s numbers 51% favorable, 43% unfavorable.

There's two things you have to remember. Texans living in Texas are a miniority. Secondly, Ann Richards lied and deceived us and amazingly still got aroud 35% of the votes in losing effort against dubya.
It's all tied up in Texas.
Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are running a tight race in Texas.
A new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll suggests the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination between Sens. Hillary Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois is a statistical dead heat in Texas, which holds primaries March 4.
In the survey, out Monday, 50 percent of likely Democratic primary voters support Clinton as their choice for the party's nominee, with 48 percent backing Obama.
But taking into account the poll's sampling error of plus or minus 4½ percentage points for Democratic respondents, the race is a virtual tie.
This is all assuming that you would rather have Obama than Hillary. I have mixed feelings on it myself.

This is a good question, aplus. As I've mentioned before, I live in a rural part of Texas that is still full of yellow-dog Democrats. Everybody that runs in the local races runs as a Democrat because they're scared nobody will vote for them as a Republican.aplusmnt said:So any of you Texans going to vote in Democratic primary instead of Republican so you we can be rid of Hillary once and for all?

Consequently, all of our local races are decided in the Democrat primary. Meaning that if we want any voice in those local races, we have to vote in the Dem's primary.
I normally skip a vote for the President's race in those primaries. But sometimes I vote for the novelty aspect - just to say that I voted for somebody. Like when I voted for Al Sharpton. I'm the only guy I know that can honestly say that he's voted for Reverend Sharpton for President.
This time will be different, though. I'm going to have to vote for Hillary hoping to help her win. Obama is a scary, scary candidate if you ask me. Anything I can do to help keep him from winning the nomination is what I intend to do.
It's really going to bother me to have to vote for her. But the worst part is having to make my wife vote for her, too. She's already said that she would vote for Hillary for the same reasons that I will. But...I'm afraid I'll end up having to hold a gun on her when it comes time.

It seems like all of the conservative talk radio hosts are still feeling the same way you did, aplus. They seem to be gloating over Hillary's downfall. While I admit that the thought of that bitch crying herself to sleep at night makes me smile, I think this is a case of being careful what we wish for. I would much rather the Republicans have to face Hillary in the general election than Obama.aplusmnt said:You know I started this thread thinking that maybe it would be best if you guys got rid of Hillary. But in past two days I been reading a lot and watching Obama. Went back through his voting record.
I despise Hillary and would hate to see her President but I am really starting to see just how scary Obama is. I have no doubt Hillary would do a better job and be more center on issues than Obama.
My votes in the Democrap primary are usually just a protest. :lol:aplusmnt said:You voted for Sharpton, now voting for Hillary, you may be more scary than Obama....

Might as well McCain is a done deal, make your vote count for something.
