That was a timely debate.

Not sure I'll explain this properly, but here goes.

I just had the Jehovah Witnesses stop by. They started by letting me know about the evils of the peer pressure that children at school nowadays are under.

We had a great discussion about Religion/politics/current events.

When they left they agreed with me that the most important teaching in anybody's Holy book, is the individualism that our creator provided to us.

They also agreed that blindly following one man's interpretations, based upon emotions and not facts was dangerous. And could be used for evil more often than good.

They didn't call me a non believer or any other name. Because they agreed that if I'm not affecting anybody else in a negative way, by expressing my individual values and beliefs, then I was following their creator's greatest given gift.

They offered to come back another time for a chat with a bigger group, I accepted their offer, on condition that I could speak to their group.

I don't think they'll be back, but they are going to vote conservative in the next election.

Thats strange because JW's as a group do not vote in elections in any country.

Maybe that's why they didn't want me to speak at their Church?

What do the rules say about agreeing with differing opinions? Are they not allowed to stray from the Minister's opinions?

They did seem to think I was not interested in their beliefs, I had to ask for their literature, as they were leaving!

Sorry if I offended and JW's with this post. Are there any JW's on PB?
