Just to pass this along, John Wayne was very impressed with things he got from some of you during round one. He now is the lead machine gunner for the company commander's protection squad so it will not be quite as active as round one.

I have learned through all of this that ranch kids have the same perseverance in the Marines that they learned on the ranch. Rock on boys, kick some towel heads butts.

Today on the truck radio I heard a program called Veterans Chronicles. They sometimes have brave soldiers from WW2 or Korea or Nam but today they had 2nd Lt. Elliot Aikman (I think that was his name) and his story about his group of men in the taking of Faluja. It was absolutely riveting. I can't say enough about how greatful I am for the price our soldiers pay for my freedom. BTW 2nd Lt. Aikman said the war in Iraq is justified. Tell John thanks for me again SW.

RR-- Do you get the military channel on TV-- Besides the old WWII documentaries they show-- they also have many from Iraq and Afghanistan...Also in the afternoon the have a 1/2 hour military news show - Around the Services- which is quite interesting on which troops are returning- which are deploying- and some of the daily happenings in the 2 Theatres as well as at home....

Just to bring this back up, got the call last night and 2/3 Marines will be boarding the planes at 1200 today to fly into Kuwait for 2 weeks then on to Iraq. Hopefully while in Kuwait sw's man gets to see our "adopted" other Marine who is on his way from Iraq and headed home. The new bride is a litttle bit stressed but she will be ok, only 7 months to go and the deployment will be over!!!!!!!!!! God bless them all

Thank you SW and thank you son too. It is men like him that let me sleep at night while they protect us.

And as for Berkley Calf. they can bite my butt.

Thank your son for me, sw. His efforts and the efforts of others in the military are what keeps our great country safe and free. We deeply appreciate their sacrifices.
