Tragic what's taking place tonight.
I watched it here in Venezuela on the 7th of October. The difference is though that Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world and only about 25 million inhabitants. The government can afford to pay a huge percentage of the population to do absolutely nothing, all day, every day.
Add to that, the average Venezuelan is content to get by on the barest of minimums. Give him something to eat every day, a tin roof over his head, and a bottle of rut-gut every weekend and he'll vote for you every trip of the train.
My dad died in 1994. He long said that America's days were numbered, that when the have-nots outnumbered the haves, they'd slowly but surely help the government eradicate the haves.
America is there.....or soon to be there. I mourn for the country I still love.
