I'll tell you why people don't like Ian Tyson.Greg and I have never been to a performance of Ians that hes played the whole time he was supposed to,hes gotten rude with the crowds,or his favorite seems to be not showing up if he doesn't want to.And thats the tip...that being said Greg still thinks hes a great cowboy singer and will continue to buy his CD's...me...nope!

He wrote a book not so long ago called I never sold my saddle.
Well in this book he seems awful concerned about people bothering him. Well here is a guy who has made all his money as a celeberty?????
Really I dont get him, like he is bitching about people coming to the back country or worse yet living there. Well he is from Vancouver Island? Made a bunch of money singing, moves to Alberta and buys a bunch of land in the back country and then builds a house there and lives. I guess its okay for him to do it but nobody else?
I havnt seen him at a cutting for a couple of years now. But when he used to cut he would just come in, make his run and then leave. He never watched anybody else make a run or stuck around to associate with anybody.

It seems like when they get bigger than 300 cows they think they are better than everybody else. The only exception is that John Ross down next to the Pinhorn Grazing reserve.
But it seems like when they get an outfit of a certain size that get that arrogant big feeling, brazen way about them. Plus its not like many of them are self made. Well Ian Tyson being the only self made one that I know of.
