I was flippin through the channels, and happened to catch the acceptance speach of Sally Fields...

a rambling mess of thank yous and then this blast about if moms ran the world there would be no (they blanked it out here but you could tell she said) goddamned war.

there was about 15 seconds of silence, I hope Limbaugh or Gleenn Beck has the actual speach. this gal was one of my favorites, ever since I fell in love with her from Smokey and the bandit. now I hate her. I will be sending her plenty of hate mail. what a bag, do these hollywood a list pricks think they can spout off thier thoughts and opinions where ever they want???

some one tell bin laden that totally wiping out hollywood would cripple this nation. then we could all live in peace

You're right, if she wasn't some hagged out pinko she wouldn't have won. Honestly, I can't stomach watching pukey, self congratulatory Hollyweird awards shows.

Nice thing about freedom of speech... people are not afraid to say what they think...

Nice think about a capitalist society...we can boycott them...

why is it that hollywood types often forget that what they say doesn't matter to most of their fans... and while most people forget most of what they say in less then ten minutes....but when they say something really stupid....seldom does any one forget...

and what per centage of the american population agrees with her stance against the war?
between 60% and 70%

Iraq is clearly the dominant policy issue on Americans' minds. It has been at the top of the list on Gallup's most important problem list since March 2004. By a wide margin over any other issue, Americans say it should be the president's and Congress' top priority. In general, Americans have been more likely over the past two years to say that U.S. involvement in the war was a mistake than favor it. As of July 2007, more than 6 in 10 Americans say the Iraq war was a mistake, the highest percentage to do so since the war began in March 2003. The majority of Americans believe that the benefits of "success" in Iraq are not worth the costs. Americans perceive the war is going badly. A majority of Americans favor the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Seven in 10 Americans favor withdrawal of all U.S. troops by April 2008

goodpasture: between 60% and 70%

that's what i was getting at. sally fields is a lot more in touch with americans than the people who keep pushing the war.
