Katrina is that a Diamond branded on that cows rib- Diamond J ranches has some of the best Hereford and Baldie cattle up in our neck of the woods. You could hide that pair in their herd.

No NR, That is our brand.... We raised this cow and our brand is an h diamond. We cross bred our herefords with a 1/2 tarentaise and angus bull. We can go with angus or hereford with these cows and get a hereford or an angus..... Best cows we have ever raised... Mind and milk..

I realize it was your brand-I just think it was kind of neat that two outfits that far apart were running similar cattle and a very similar brand. There's an outfit in Hyannis, Nebraska-Monohan's I think has the Circle Dot brand which is a pretty unique iron-except my neighbor uses it to.

Yeah I'm kind of like a Tom Cat but I don't get their fringe benefits lol. They darned BSE deal kind of put an end to my US fact finding missions but I think I'm heading down to the NILE in Billings this fall.

Katrina how close are you to Hyannis-we stopped in the old bar there and I found a picture of my old buddy riding broncs at the Old Timers rodeo. I asked him about it and his exact quote was 'I used to think I could drink whiskey till I went to that country'. The Sandhills look to be as good a ranch country as I've seen in my travels.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( hugs ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

It does hurt to loose one, especially one that you've invested some of yourself in, whether in pulling it, or trying to get it over some nasty "bug"..................

Hang in there, kiddo...........I'll be thinkin of ya'll and praying that the pulling part is over for ya.

When we were at Encino in 2001, had 125 first calf heifers.........somehow they'd mostly gotten bred by a Hereford bull. I think we pulled every one of the 98 Hereford cross calves. I was gettin to where I didn't even want to go check them.........

Yours is going better than mine did... I lost 4 of 5 calves... and the only one that lived was out of the cheapest cow I've ever bought... so sad... lol. Funny how that goes, eh?
