The left caught off guard

The left has for 4 decades held captive the stage for public protests in opposition to various governmental policies. They considered themselves experts at shouting out their message to politicians that generally ignored them. Perhaps they had some small success on the local level, and the cumulative effect of the various Vietnam war rallies certainly had the effect over period of years, in shaping national policy. They were secure in their minds as the voice of the downtrodden and oppressed, but their message was never unified and was usually disjointed based upon various special interests.

The Right just beat them at their own game and they are really really ticked off about it. You see, never in the history of this nation has any group or collection of like minded thinkers, organized a truly national protest. That is, simultaneous rallies to protest the same subject matters in every major city and many small towns in the nation. Never has the left been able to put out their message on a nationally unified scale and done so in a coordinated get out and be heard manner. They were in awe and did not know what to do about it, thus they lashed out with violent diatribes. They did what they do best, they couldn't attack the message, so they resorted to mass personal attacks against the people protesting. It struck them to the core and still all they can come up with are personal attacks.

Worse yet, they realized that many of those attending the rallys were disgusted Obama voters who realized they had made a mistake. This was as bad for the left as it gets short of a national landslide election against them. Congress did notice this groundswell and it scares the bejeesus out of them. They know that if this sort of thing translated into votes, the liberal agenda is toast. The Potomac Pirates are now trying to figure what to do, they were told. Do they smell the coffee? Our battle for our country is not over, we must keep reminding them. But above all remember they are in assault mode to discredit this movement, don't let em. Move forward with care and confidence.

The right and center just out protested the left, and they have no idea how to handle it.

I just hope that next time the wingnuts get together for one of their demonstrations they come up with a better name than "teabaggers".

Who labeled them "teabaggers? The same people as those that labelled "Rednecks"

Get a clue Badaxe.

If the "teabaggers" labelled themselves, isn't it something that they labelled themselves after a homosexual act.

Your liberal labels and generalizations are starting to catch up to you.

I thought it was quite fitting- when you only get 1/10th of 1 percent of the population turning out...  :p

This from the people that preach at the tops of their lungs, "we won, get over it", while protesting California's prop 8.

Any irony? Why are they not Demonizing these people for protesting against their government?

Afghan women attacked for protesting marriage law
By HEIDI VOGT, Associated Press Writer Heidi Vogt, Associated Press Writer Wed Apr 15, 5:18 pm ET

KABUL – Dozens of young women braved crowds of bearded men screaming "dogs!" on Wednesday to protest an Afghan law that lets husbands demand sex from their wives. Some of the men picked up small stones and pelted the women. "Slaves of the Christians!" chanted the 800 or so counter-demonstrators, a mix of men and women. A line of female police officers locked hands to keep the groups apart.

The warring protests highlight the explosive nature of the women's rights debate in Afghanistan. Both sides are girding for battle over the legislation, which has sparked an international uproar since being quietly signed into law last month.

The law says a husband can demand sex with his wife every four days, unless she is ill or would be harmed by intercourse. It also regulates when and for what reasons a wife may leave her home without a male escort.

Based on your post in past. I would think you would be a supporter of the Tea Parties or are you just against government spending when Bush does it?

Well don't worry I am sure the liberals will keep you on the Kool-Aid party invite list!

Painting themselves into a corner once again. Next year when they realize the true tax increases necessary, what credibility will they have, when they also join the Tea Bag parties.

Who is painting them into the corner? Fellow Liberals! No one will want to be part of a group that is "Racist, anti-Obama, Redneck, sorelosers, etc" They will once again be caught by their own "labels"

Baby steps people, Baby steps.

Have we had one person on PB that has realized that they voted for a fraud?

I bet there are many, just too embarassed to say so. Why the embarrassment?

Credibility should not be an embarrassment, if you made a mistake, speak out, it only adds to your credibility!

Ok from now on per your request, since i was gonna call you a liberal.I will now just call you *********.......Or would you perfere "********* formally known as Sandhusker".lol...

All joking aside I think it is healthy that the right wing folks stage these parties...It helps keep people honest and keeps the country and its leaders focused on the tasks at hand.....Any liberal that thinks these demonstrations are wrong, has a short memory ....It is unhealthy and possibly detrmental to a country to not allow all political voices have thier say,and to dictate the manner in how they choose to say it........
