The woods are full of ' law' and the skies are full of planes and choppers looking for this gal...or what's left of her.

Seems a lot of people have encountered this creep over the years.

I've been wondering if you knew any inside scoop on this.

I only know what has been on the news. The gal was from near Atl but loved to hike up here. She was by herself when hiking which is something you should NEVER do here.

#1 those public trails have always drawn all the freaks and ....

#2 these woods are dangerous.

You can walk off the edge of a hidden rock ledge into a draw, break a leg, fall into a sink hole, even fall into one of the hundred of mining pits/shafts that plague these hills left over from the days of the Ga Gold Rush.

None of us locals go out without having someone with you, or GPS or whatever. Most folks hunt in pairs even. Many an experienced hunter has been lost or hurt in these hills.

It's not a smart move to go out alone like that to start with, esp where she was.

But they sure are searching hard, the air is just humming with aricraft and last nite I kept hearing planes. I guess they were trying out the heat sensor deal to see what they find.

I bet all the pot growers are nervous!!!

Pot was harvested in Sept-Oct, but moonshine is made all year.

Well....thanks for that expert knowledge!!!

Shiners have moved operations indoors around here. You will find VERY few operations going on outside w/ all the leaves gone right now.

About 1 1/2 months ago...I was helping some searchers look for a missing kid where my prop joins the Nat'l Forest.

Someone, of the 4 people with me, hit a ' can line'....I hit the deck but the others just looked at me as if I was nuts!! They didn't have a clue!!

If that guy killed that girl he needs to be "HUNG." thats right just get a judge to give the word and hang him. No injection or gas. Take him out in the middle of the road in front of god and everbody and hang him. If it saves one persons life it will be worth it.

The GBI all but certain, w/o saying exactly how they know for sure, that she's dead and they are looking for a body.

Seems that this same guy had threatened others hikers in the past, some with a baton/bat.

That App. Trail is crawling with freaks...always has been.

I don't remember it that way. When I first went off to school at Young Harris it was a nice peaceful nature loving place. And one big party untill I flunked out and had to join the Navy to make a living. But then that was 30 years ago.

Now it's a different deal.

The FBI are set up in a field near a bridge not too far from me ( about 6-7 miles) right now. Crime tape , FBI, the whole deal ! Who knows what else they'll find in such a big search.

I think they ought to give this girls family a gun, knife, rope, hotshot, and anything else they want and send them into these woods. Tell the family to come out when they are done, but take your time.

Seems they found the body, the guy led them to it. I suppose the death penalty is off the table for his cooperation. He better hope he doesn't drop the soap.............
