The National Call To Kill The Death Tax

Guys, every civilized society since the dawn of time has had taxes. Taxes aren't just for the "have nots" (I assume the complaint here is welfare?), they also support our road systems, our military, public education, municipal buildings and operations, hospitals, police departments, etc, etc, etc.
Do you honestly think, when you're paying your taxes in April, that the only purpose is to support welfare??

If we take away the death tax, that money will still be needed.
Where do you all think it's going to come from? :???:

i dont like paying taxes as much as you dont like paying them. go to fairtax.org and see what they say...........its unbelievable. The rich and poor will benifit and if you dont think so, your not lookin at it or some liberal is telling you its bad news.

One other thing.....you talk about the guys who are building the yahts.....do you not think they have earned their money? Lets say i made a million last year working my butt off. Does that mean i need to pay more to those who sit on their butts? I wouldnt think so. just because i made a good chunk of change last year does not mean i should get penalized for that. Thats my money. Not yours, not the govts and its not fair for me to have to give that to them. I am sure the millionairs pay a heck of a lot more that me or you do in taxes, but just because they are smart enought or lucky enough dont mean they should pay more. you and i live in the same country as they, we both take up as much space.

the "death tax" will never effect me our most of you. the amount of $$ it takes to get taxed is incredible.

$2 Million from 2005 to 2008.

The rates of Estate Taxes above that amount range from 18% to 48%

Mike, Do you happen to have th site where this info is posted? As I said MOST will never be affected by this tax unless it is repealed and then MOST will be affected by this tax.

S Hunter, Your post implies that everyone but the rich sit on their butts. I can assure you, I have no use for those that don't work if they are able to work. I've worked since I was big enough to pull a feed sack and pick cotton. I don't want the ones that DO WORK inheriting the tax that the rich are paying now via the Death Tax, you can be sure that they will if its repealed. It certainly won't affect the ones tht are too lazy or don't work for whatever reasons.
