The Numbers are in

Washington released the Dec numbers as being 1.1 million have signed up so far. Now they said they needed 7.5 million by March for the plan to work and half way there they claim victory with 1.1 million. :?

According to math they are about 2.5 million short of being half way there. But that 7.5 million they needed was quoted BEFORE the insurance companies started sending letters canceling 5 million policies because they didn't comply with Obama's requirements. So you have the 7.5 million they needed to start with and the 5 million that are now uninsured and you get 12.5 million and the White House is bragging about 1.1 million as if it is on track to save the world.

Then add to that there is no assurance most or any of the 1.1 million have actually paid their premiums that would activate their policies by the deadline of Jan. 1 as the backend of the Obamacare website is not created that would send the info on to the insurance companies. So they may had signed up but do they have insurance and with that insurance can they see their doctors?

Oh and of the 1.1 million that signed up does anyone care to guess just how many of them are older sicker people needing expensive healthcare verses young health people that will not take much healthcare but are expected to pay skyrocketing premiums to cover the cost of the others?

Then you have the fact 1.1 million people that trusted the government have opened their private info up to hackers from God only knows where, because the Administration LIED ABOUT THE WEBSITE BEING "FIXED".

Target had to pay up when their info was hacked does anyone care to guess if the US GOVERNMENT WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR LOST INFO?

The real test is going to come in Jan. when hundreds of thousands of people get the flu and go to their family doctor and are told that they have to go somewhere else for care or are told they have no insurance thanks to Obama.

They are saying that a majority if not all of the 1.1 million that did sign up were people that had insurance and were forced out due to Obama and very few are those that were uninsured, in other words those Obama destroyed the existing system to cover. Those that were uninsured are still uninsured due to the fact they can't afford the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT.

When they go to get healthcare that is all out of pocket for the first 5 to 6 thousand before their insurance kicks in you can bet SH*T will hit the fan.

I hope every liberal that voted for Obama is blessed with the worst case of the runs in Jan. and can't find a doctor that excepts their Obamacare plan.

Last i knew, they were reporting Medicaid enrollments in their totals also. Medicaid is virtually free to the user with the medical bills being paid by the government.

So, if Medicaid enrollments are included in their numbers, they are even further away from meeting a sustainable financial goal.

Anyone know the breakdown of the numbers between health insurance enrollees and Medicaid enrollees?

I have to echo Tom in Tn.. concerns.. how many are now getting free healthcare.. (at least for now)

The Obama administration said this morning more than 1.1 million people enrolled in a health plan on the federal exchange from October 1 to December 24

The government also did not release estimates on how many Americans signed up for coverage under the expanded Medicaid health insurance program for the poor.

if they won't release the number then it isn't good news..

if the trend today is anything like it was in the first month this is going to bust the budgets..

In first month, the vast majority of Obamacare sign-ups are in Medicaid

The first month of the new health law’s rollout reveals an unexpected pattern in several states: a crush of people applying for an expansion of Medicaid and a trickle of sign-ups for private insurance.

This early imbalance — in some places, nine out of 10 enrollees are in Medicaid — has taken some experts by surprise.

Budget forecasters projected this summer that 9 million people would sign up for Medicaid in 2014, slightly more than the 7 million shoppers who would purchase private insurance plans.

Of the states reporting enrollment data, most show a much wider gap between the two programs.

“If it’s December and 90 percent of new enrollees are in Medicaid, that would be a departure from a lot of the estimates,” he said.

“When we first saw the numbers, everyone’s eyes kind of bugged out,” said Matt Salo, who runs the National Association of Medicaid Directors. “Of the people walking through the door, 90 percent are on Medicaid. We’re thinking, what planet is this happening on?”

and this guy finished grade school? did he miss the class on human nature?

Low enrollment in private insurance, meanwhile, could increase premiums as it would likely indicate that only sick people, who really need coverage, were signing up.

oh dear,.. sounds like trouble in La La land..  big trouble

HHS reported Wednesday that 1.2 million Americans have enrolled in ObamaCare since the exchanges opened on October 1st.

A deeper look at the numbers, however, reveals a more troubling trend. Of the total enrollees, over 800,000 have signed up for Medicaid. Just over 360,000 have enrolled in private insurance plans, just 30% of the total.

A further complication is the fact that up to 25% of the current enrollments have errors in their applications. Some number of the people being touted by the Administration as success stories will greet the new year without insurance coverage.

so lets see.. 70% have medicaid ,.. 30 % have signed up..

and of those 25% are screwed up applications.. leaving say 5%

so what is 5% of 1.2 million? 60,000 subsidized customers?

downright success story here.. less then 1% of what is needed..
