REPUBLICAN SWEEP — GOP Candidate Wins By 20 Points in Nevada Race
9/14/2011 | Jim Hoft
Republican Mark Amodei won the Congressional election yesterday in Nevada by 20 POINTS. It was NOT EVEN CLOSE. Republican Mark Amodei speaks at a victory party in Reno on Tuesday after defeating Democrat Kate Marshall in a special election for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District.
Amodei won by more than 20 points in a referendum on Barack Obama’s failed policies. Reuters reported:
Nevada Republican Mark Amodei easily won a special election on Tuesday to fill a vacant House of Representatives seat in a largely rural district that has never sent a Democrat to Congress.
With 95 percent of precincts counted, Amodei had collected over 57 percent of votes compared to 36 percent for Democratic state Treasurer Kate Marshall, according to the Nevada Secretary of State’s office. Other candidates garnered the remaining votes.
