The Rapture is a great Heresy..........

Right wing Christianity teaches, as in many cults, that you will escape death by being"raptured" into the arms of Jesus. The problem is, NO ONE has escaped death but Moses. You and I will not escape death.

Right wing Christianity teaches the largely less than well educated and or enlightened followers to fear death, loath death. This undermines the great sacrifice Jesus made for us to show us that we can defeat death, but not escape it.

This Right wing Christian heresy is and will be key to the destruction of much of the world and lead to the senseless deaths of millions, many million in the end, if not billions....as much as 1/3rd of earths population if you believe the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation..as well as 2/3rds of the population of Israel as well.

Due to this belief and false teaching of the Rapture (the pre-Tribulation Rapture to be exact), the false prophets like Parsley and Hagee, Dobson, Robertson, Falwell while he was still able to wag his lying tongue..et al..are not servants of God at all..and yet they dare to claim directly or indirectly to know God's mind and think they can get God to act in their time...not God's chosen time.

As the economy continues to slide, the energy crisis becomes palpable and the occupation of Iraq appears indefinite, the potential grows for a major disruption of daily life. A significant percentage of the population sees these looming crises through a specific lens: a belief that humanity is waging the opening skirmishes of a cosmic war between Good and Evil that will usher in the Kingdom of God. Such belief enables an ever-escalating sense of urgency – very real threats to the middle and lower classes (outsourcing, rising fuel and food costs, etc) combine with perceived threats (secularism, homosexuality, ethnic/religious others) to become overwhelming evidence of the tribulations that signal apocalypse.

It tells us in Revelation that in the final days there will be many false prophets. Be careful of those who claim to know God's mind and try to attribute man made problems with divine intervention that will only be solved by God's saving them from death through the rapture.

Rapture is a relatively new concept in Christian beliefs, held by a small number of denominations. Maybe it shouldn't be taken too seriously. But maybe just take Peter seriously:
2 Peter 3: 8-14 - This point must not be overlooked, dear friends. In the Lord's eyes, one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years are as a day. The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise - though some consider it "delay." Rather, he shows you generous patience, since he wants none to perish but all to come to repentance. The day of the Lord will come like a thief, and on that day the heavens will vanish with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and all its deeds will be made manifest.
Since everything is to be destroyed in this way, what sort of men must you not be! How holy in your conduct and devotion, looking for the coming of the day of God and trying to hasten it! Because of it, the heavens will be destroyed in flames and the elements will melt away in a blaze. What we await are new heavens and a new earth where, according to his promise, the justice of God will reside. So, beloved, while waiting for this, make every effort to be found without stain or defilement, and at peace in his sight.

Those are very worthwhile thoughts, Martin Jr. It's almost like saying that obedience is more important than, and comes ahead of understanding.

That's not a concept that I find all that comfortable, but one necessary for growth!
