the difference between Spitzer and a Republican caught in the same circumstances......

Unlike the Republicans,

1) With Spitzer, there was no pedophilia involved, and

2) With Spitzer, it was with a female.

The Left's Pedophile Problem (Hawaii Democrats Hired Convicted Child Molester As State Aide Alert)
Frontpagemag.com ^ | 10/03/06 | Andrew Walden

Democrats trying to make political hay out of the resignation of Florida Republican Congressman Tom Foley should take a good look at their own party. There was Bill Clinton’s last minute pardon of former Rep. Mel Reynolds, D-IL, who had been imprisoned for having sex with a 16-year-old staffer. (He was later hired by Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow/PUSH Coalition; both Clinton and Jackson had also had sex with subordinates.) There is the case of Rep. Barney Frank, D-MA, whose office housed a prostitution ring. However, less known is one Hawaiian case, in which more than seven high ranking Democrat senators and representatives worked to assist one Leon Rouse – a convicted child molester serving time on underage sex charges in the Philippines. Rouse, now released after 8 years in prison, was hired last session as an employee of a Democrat-controlled Hawaii state Legislative Committee. 2008 Democratic presidential hopeful Russ Feingold also came to his defense, along with a Clinton-era U.S. embassy and more than half-a-dozen Democrats.

Arrested in the Philippines on October 4, 1995, and later convicted for paying 200 pesos to have sex with a 15-year-old boy, Leon Rouse served eight years of a 10-to-15-year sentence in New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City. After complaining of kidney stones, he was released by the Philippine authorities on September 29, 2003, and immediately deported to the U.S. As a condition of his release, he was banished from the Philippines for life.

In spite of being a convicted child molester, Rouse has received extensive help from many elected Democrats.

New Jersey governor quits, comes out as gay
McGreevey announces resignation after telling of affair
Friday, August 13, 2004 Posted: 8:04 AM EDT (1204 GMT)

(CNN) -- Dropping a political bombshell, New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey announced his resignation Thursday after revealing that he is gay and that he had an adulterous affair with a man.

With his wife standing by his side, McGreevey -- a father of two -- spoke in calm tones as he described his struggle with his sexuality, "a certain sense that separated me from others." It was something that he said began as a child.

"At a point in every person's life, one has to look deeply into the mirror of one's soul and decide one's unique truth in the world, not as we may want to see it or hope to see it, but as it is," McGreevey said.

"And so, my truth is that I am a gay American," the Democrat said.

McGreevey's surprise resignation came as Golan Cipel, a former security aide to the governor, had readied a sexual harassment lawsuit against the governor, two Democratic sources told CNN. Cipel resigned his post in 2002.

A third Democratic source, who had spoken throughout the day with a top aide to the governor, told CNN it is unclear whether Cipel will proceed with the lawsuit now that McGreevey has announced his resignation.

CNN has made repeated attempts to reach Cipel for comment.

Speaking at a packed news conference in the Statehouse in Trenton, New Jersey, McGreevey admitted to an affair with a man and asked for his family's forgiveness.

"It was wrong. It was foolish. It was inexcusable," he said.

And McGreevey said he was stepping down from the state's highest office.

"Given the circumstances surrounding the affair and its likely impact upon my family and my ability to govern, I have decided the right course of action is to resign," McGreevey said.

His resignation will take effect November 15, and State Senate President Richard Codey, a fellow Democrat, will serve the the remainder of his term, which ends in January 2006

So, is $5000 the going rate that Democrats have to pay now for somebody to have sex with them?

Let's examine the Spitzer case a little closer;
First of all, he got rung up for what he himself prosecuted others for. Also, this wasn't something that just happened. It wasn't like he had too much to drink with an overly amorous female admirer (not that that is excusable, either). He planned on committing this crime - he crossed state lines to commit this crime - and he left a deposit so he could commit it again in the future!

Most Republicans turned their backs on Sen. Craig and said what he did was inexcusable and he should get out. Spitzer pulls this one off and the libs again excuse it by pointing their fingers at others and saying, "Yeah, but he...." James Carville said, "I smell a rat here". Yeah, J.C., the rat is Spitzer!

I have to ask; Is there any crime a liberal can commit that would get them thrown out of the club? Is there any line that can not be crossed?

And did Craig get out :???: The Repubs said one thing in public- then slapped their good old boy buddy Craig on the back when the press wasn't looking- and brought him back into the fold...

Craig broke a law too- which he pled guilty to...He should be gone, just like Spitzer will soon be- and if the Republican Party had any leadership they would make sure he was-- but with GW at the helm, they are as splintered and fractured as he has made this country....

And thats why after Nov., the Repub party will look more like a 3rd Party than they ever have before in history...

OK I think I get it now-- its OK for Repubs to be sexual perverts and break (and plead guilty to) sex laws as long as its just a "little" crime they commit    :(
So Mike- are you promoting Senator Craig to your kids as a role model of what they should grow up and be :???: Just tell them its OK for Repubs to break pervert crimes as long as their just little laws   :(

You are sure one dumb MF.

Barney Franks shouldn't have been left intact either after he got caught living with a guy that was running a homo prostitution ring out of his OWN HOUSE!!!!

You have reached an all time low here. If you think I promote Craig as an alternative lifestyle you are even dumber than I thought before.

No, you don't get it. You probably never will.

I agree that Franks probably should have been gone too- but apparently he represents the "ideals" of the folks of his district since they keep putting him back in there

What I think is dumb is arguing about whether a crook, charlaton, or hypocrite should go when caught because of whether they are a Repub or a Dem or not.....They should ALL be ousted the first time they are caught ......

If I'm not mistaken impeachment is for "High Crimes and Misdemeanors".....didn't Larry Craig plead guilty to a misdemeanor?

So far, Spitzer has been caught. he hasn't been convicted. I agree he will end up resigning, but he will work a plea deal of some sort first.

But let me state, that in my opinion, both the laws under which Craig was convicted and the laws that Spitzer not only broke but prosecuted are archaic and should be removed from the books. However, that being said, the laws ARE on the books and law makers and enforcement people should be the ones most scrupulous in their obedience of those laws.
