The snow is sooo deep....

I struck out into the snow today to get around a couple of pairs that had strayed. The snow is just like sugar, and I hooked my food under a fallen tree hidden beneath the snow. I discovered too late that the snow is so deep that when you fall, your arms aren't long enough to keep your face out of the snow. Or to be of much assistance in the standing up process at all. :? What could I do but laugh at myself?

Whoa, that's a lot of snow! What are your daytime temperatures now, Silver?

We have had several consecutive days of 8C-10C so the snow here is melting nicely - there is even the odd piece of dirt or grass showing through now.

BUT the forecast is calling for -13C and snow again for the weekend. Who needs it?

We woke yesterday to a good six inches of snow where there had been none, so it was a long drive to work over 70 km of unplowed highway. I was all ready for spring grass, not spring snow!

70 degrees+ yesterday with a steady wind really started drying things out around here.. That, and I am told that the frost is out of the ground here and there... But we get rain tonight and than down into the low 40's for Thursday and friday with a cold weekend too... Oh well, April will be here soon...

the sea gulls are back... Freaked out the guy who works for me, guess he never saw them here last year.

We are havin highs in the 70s, and tomorrow forecast says high of 81...lows at night are in the mid 50s......give it a week or two and the lows at night will be in the 60s and the grass should really get to growin fast. It's all green here now, but the lower night temps keep the grass at a slow pace.

It's unusually cold here MLA. Daytime temperatures are struggling to make the freezing mark, and tonight it's -25C. Of course the weatherman claimed it was only gonna be -10 :? . I just put a newborn and momma in the barn, little bugger was already up and sucking though.
When spring breaks here it's gonna be impressive.
