WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) — Neighbors near Kosciuszko Park in Wilmington expressed anger and outrage Friday, after learning the details of a brutal gang-rape that happened in the park Thursday.

Police say two women, ages 32 and 24, were reportedly attacked and sexually assaulted by a group of 10 to 12 black male juveniles in Kosciuszko Park at about 6:54 p.m. Thursday. According to police, the suspects, who range in age from 12 to 17-years-old, remain on the loose.

The victims were transported to Christiana Hospital for treatment.

Wilmington police increased patrols Friday in the park which is located in the 600 block of South Franklin Street in the Hedgeville Community.

The women were released from the hospital Friday, but as of Friday night, police had no suspects and no witnesses.

“The new criminal we’re seeing, they’re bold, they’re brazen, and they have a total disregard for life,” said Maria Cabrera, city councilwoman-at-large in Wilmington.

the left has taught them that mob mentality has no consequences..

experience has taught them that few mobs get punished..

blacks "civil rights" leaders have taught them bitterness and that white folk have no expectation of civil rights and can be raped, robbed, beaten and murdered without public outrage.

and our liberal court system has taught them that "children" will get a soft punishment if any punishment at all for violent crimes... and that they wipe their record clean when they become an adult...

to bad they can't teach them manners, respect and how to read, write, and communicate...

what I find disturbing beyond the violent rapes, is that living fairly close to the area that I had not heard about the gang violence...

from a ABC online report.. which called it a group,.. and didn't mention race..
"We don't have a police plan in this city. We continue to react to the violence that's occurring. This park has had homicides, rapes, continued violence," Kelley said.

sadly this is their police plan..
For now, police need help finding the suspects, and they're hoping the suspects themselves come forward.

"Step up, turn yourselves in so we can move forward," said Cpl. Jamaine Crawford of the Wilmington Police. "At this time in their lives they need help and we can get them help."

Yeah, what about helping the victims. :x :x :x

I once had a friend that was raped, she said there is no help for the victims.
Law enforcement made her feel like it was HER FAULT. She felt totally degraded by them. They made no pretense of not being interested in finding the guy. The only thing she felt like she could do, was give voice to what happened to her and warn other girls/women how to deal with it, should it ever happen to them. She speaks at women's conference meetings, etc. She's plenty bitter about how the law handled it.

Eventually, they did catch the guy--many years and incidences later...

If the shoe was on the other foot and we had a civil war in this country you can bet Big"O" would hold nothing back to remain in power.

(CBS/AP) MARIETTA, Ga. - Eighteen-year-old De'Marquise Elkins (Black) was convicted of murder Friday in the shooting of a baby (White) who was riding in a stroller alongside his mom (White) in a town in coastal Georgia.

Jurors deliberated about two hours before finding Elkins guilty in the March 21 killing of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago in Brunswick. The man's mother, Karimah Elkins, was on trial alongside him and was found guilty of tampering with evidence but acquitted of lying to police.

De'Marquise Elkins' attorney asked for bond for his client while they appealed, which a judge denied.

CBS affiliate WTEV reports De'Marquise Elkins faces up to life in prison and his mother faces up to 15 years in prison.

Prosecutors said Elkins killed Antonio in an attempted robbery.

The baby's mother, Sherry West, also was shot.

Another teen, 15-year-old Dominique Lang, is also charged with murder in the case and is scheduled to be tried at a later date. Lang testified against Elkins during the two-week trial.

Sherry West also took the stand during the trial. She testified she was walking home from the post office with Antonio in a stroller on the morning of March 21. She said a gunman demanding her purse shot her baby in the face after she told him she had no money.

The killing in the port city of Brunswick drew national attention, and the trial was moved to the Atlanta suburb of Marietta because of the extensive publicity locally.

During closing arguments, a defense attorney for Elkins said the investigation was flawed and police ignored other leads and suspects, while the prosecution said witnesses may have had shifting stories but video and other evidence doesn't lie.

The prosecution's witnesses - many with a criminal history and some drug users - lied repeatedly and changed their stories throughout the investigation, De'Marquise Elkins' defense attorney Jonathan Lockwood said in closing statements. The initial information that led police to Elkins came from a known crack user who initially gave a different name for the shooter, he said.

"You have to look past the dead baby and look at the facts in the case," Elkins' attorney Jonathan Lockwood told the jury.

Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jackie Johnson also urged jurors to look at the facts, saying the defense presented theories and speculation but that the evidence proves Elkins is guilty.
