First of...Saturday we went to Round Top Antique Show. It's miles and miles of stuff set up on the sides of the road. Just about anything and everything you can imagine it's there somewhere if your willin to walk long enough to find it. Found a few things I just didn't wanna live without....
This was one of my purchases....been wantin one of these for years and finally found one.
Then this afternoon Mr. Lilly and I canned peas. 14 quarts, and a whole bunch more still in the freezer to go. Gotta get em done this week...and freezer cleaned out for the steer that'll be ready to put in there in a weeks time.
After we got finished with the peas...we headed out to haul water to the bulls and cut some firewood....Got a lil bit cut...All the major limbs of the downed tree.....we'll hafta roll the trunk over with the tractor to cut more so it doesn't fall.
Came home to this......Mr Lilly's dad had set what's left of Granny's house on fire. We'd stored some of the antique furniture in the wash house that's not far from the main house. I made the comment that "sure hope it don't set the wash house on fire" about that time...we noticed flames from the top. So they grabbed the water hose.....it wasn't long enough to reach.......one person ran for more hose...while Mr Lilly took the chain saw and started cuttin a big hole in the back side of the building. Got the hose hooked up.....water sprayin on it....not doin a whole lotta good......Mr Lilly and Lil Lilly's b/f movin furniture out the hole as fast as they could go. Got it all out.....about the time the whole thing went up in flames. Whew...I was standin there in tears worryin about them, as well as all that neat old furniture. But alls well.
