one important issue with the democrats in '08 was the worlds view and respect of the US,... we were going to "reset" our relations..

other then a little embarrassing translation glitch,... How has that turned out?

A top Russian female news reader has been fired for allegedly trying to show US President Barack Obama her middle finger during a live newscast.

An online footage of the incident showed Tatyana Limanova showing the camera her raised middle finger, while referring to Obama

She said she knew how bad it looked. "The gesture came out as most people have interpreted it. It was what it was." Ms Limanova, one of Russia's most respected and experienced news anchors, was unceremoniously fired by her employer, the privately owned REN TV channel,

"The gesture came out as most people have interpreted it. It was what it was."

nothing lost in the translation on that one...

Why does a Russian care so much about what the US President does :???:

Is that the finger she intends to use on the "reset button"?

the first thing a person who deals with Russia must understand, Their dislike for US is not as bad as their dislike for China..

many in Russia understand their economy and peace is dependent on the US, at least for now..

in that regard many felt Obama would rectify some of the trade issues and their economy would recover along with ours.. Obama didn't make things better, he made it worse, so now they are dealing with China for economic growth..

they want more investment in their oil fields, that investment was dependent on good relations with the US government.. now they have to turn to China..

add in that they respect strength and detest weakness like many countries,.. and we have failed miserably in their views..
