They keep dying

SDH says if we pull out of Iraq, more Iraqis will die. Link below; my emphasis.

"Qais Hassan, deputy director of the Baghdad city morgue, told Reuters the facility receives an average of between 35 and 50 bodies a day. He said 90 percent had gunshot wounds, likely victims of sectarian violence."

And that's only in Baghdad! The Iraqis must be soooo grateful to President Bush for saving them from Saddam.

There was a Commander on Bret Hume today that said the soldiers morale in Iraq was very good. They know why they are there and know they need to stay.

(regardless of what dis says).

You're exactly right, but that seems like less of an issue than pushing gloom and doom for a percieved political advantage.

That Comm is sitting somewhere safe. I talk to my guys almost every day ...that every day they are not under mortar attack.......finding IED left and right.....trying not to get shot in the back.

They are sick of it and want to come home. They can see no progress whatsoever. They set up a camp/gurad station of the IA.....left them fully stocked and trained. Had trained this particular sqaud for 3 months!

The IA guards went to sleep on guard and bombers drove in the blew them to pieces. Well....the guys--Army-- had to go right back and rebuild the post and start all over again with a new bunch of IA. 3 wks later...BOOM.....same thing.

You can't help people if they won't help themselves!!

I wonder how many people show up in the morgue in L.A. a day and have gunshot wounds. Are you going to blame Bush for that too???

So what you are saying is that this Commander is not telling us the whole story? A lie perhaps? Or are you saying we should believe what you say you hear from "your guys" rather than that of someone who has first hand knowledge of the situation? Sorry but I think you may be corresponding with those that have the same feelings as you do, and you may be missing out on talking to those that are all for it. Just a thought though.

I'm glad the soldier's morale is good. They're there until their commanders tell them to come home. It doesn't matter what they think. They should obey all legal commands from their superiors. This isn't about soldiers; it's about the President of the United States sending them off in an unnecessary war.

This guy sounds like Rumsfeld yesterday when accused of lying. He pointed to the fact soldiers wore protective gear when they went into Iraq. Well, duh! They wear what they're told will give them the best protection!

How many people were being killed in LA before Bush invaded Iraq? Nice try, though.

BBJ" I think my guys do have first hand info...as I forward some of the email to this site....since they are the ones getting shot at...I'd say that makes them pretty well " first hand"

And the Commander may not be telling stories..I never said that he was but he's NOT in the trenches so to speak. He's getting his info 2nd and 3rd also. I've never said my mouth was a prayer book either.

I honestly don't know what the political opinions of the soldiers may be. I've never asked and they havent' said.....I'm just there for support, new socks, cookies and DVD's for them...

Think about it....what would your morale/feelings be if you had to sleep in the armor cause of attacks every few hours....

Well seeing how someone signs up or "VOLUNTEERS" for our Military and knowing the business our Military is in, I would hope they understand their current situation.

My point about the commander vs. your "email" is that he is first hand in my book.

Are you seriously saying that Commanders in Chief, George W. Bush, or some high ranking officer who sets at a desk all day, know the mood of our military better than the guys actually being shot at or dealing with roadside expolosions? You are really ignorant.

A good portion of our soldiers in Iraq are National Guard. They expected to serve inside their states. Plus, the military has put a "stop loss" order on. Some soldiers whose elistment time is up are being held over because of the lack of trained replacements. I'm not sure that qualifies as "volunteer."

I am saying that I will believe the "Commanders in Chief, PRESIDENT George W. Bush and some high ranking officer", before I take the words of dis or kola. You see, you might not know it dis, but this is just an opinion board, and even though you believe the garbage you type here doesn't make it the truth. The people you refered to are real and deal with this stuff every day unlike you who sits at you computer just to see who you can piss off for the day. You my friend are pitiful and only here to spread the dooom and gloom and your hate Bush agenda. Well I'm sure most here take you and your comments for what they are worth. NOTHING but worthless dribble on a internet website.

Talk about ignorance, thats the pot calling the kettle black.

As for the National Guard I work with a guy that just "VOLUNTEERED" to go back. He has a few months old baby girl and wife, but he knows the cause and the good that will come from this. He is not a Republican nor a demo-crat, but he supports this war. Let me say it again HE VOLUNTEERED.

Of course, it's an opinion board. So far, I'm free to express mine and you're free to express yours. You want to believe a man who refused to serve his country in a war, go ahead. I'd believe the guys actually in the trenches.

Your friend may have volunteered to go back; many aren't. And recruitment for the US Army, Reserves, and National Guard is at dangerously low numbers. This war is going to affect our military for a generation. It will take a long time for parents to trust our military with their children's lives. There was no need to invade Iraq. That's the bottom line; Bush did it anyway.

BBJ...I'll make sure that I tell the boys that no one believes what they say is true.

That the only truth of the war comes from the mouth of GWB.

I'm sure that'll just perk'em right up out of the morale slump. Hmmmm.....maybe we need the Ghost Dance back....that'll work!!

I'm sorry you think I'm making this up....lordly knows I wish I was!!!

If you don't believe what some one is saying....then you take it they are telling something that is not believeable...thus not the truth.

There is also something in the equasion called credibility.

Thank you red robin. Like I said, SHOW ME ONE TIME WHERE I SAID WHAT THEY SAID WASN'T TRUE. Can't do it huh? It's not that I don't believe them but I think someone has a political agenda here and credibility is the perfect word to use. I believe them but I think maybe you aren't being 100% truthful, just my opinion though.

kola quoted me with "I am saying that I will believe the "Commanders in Chief, PRESIDENT George W. Bush and some high ranking officer", before I take the words of dis or kola." Notice I said before I take the words of dis or kola.
