Russia,.. National Geographic to Update World Map With Russian Crimea.
MOSCOW, March 19 (RIA Novosti) – Experts at the Washington-based National Geographic Society have announced plans to redraw the world map to show Crimea as part of Russia after the Ukrainian breakaway region’s reunification with Moscow is finalized.
The US magazine’s editorial, legal and cartographic leadership met Tuesday to discuss how to map Crimea’s political status, shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin and Crimea’s leaders signed a treaty on Russia absorbing the Black Sea peninsula.
National Geographic cartographers have agreed to temporarily indicate Crimea on maps as Ukrainian territory with a shading to indicate a special status, similar to how the contested territories of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are shown.
But following the ratification of the reunification treaty by the Russian parliament the organization plans to include the region as part of Russia, Valdes said.

This is the reason McCain is not in that office today- and does not have his finger on the button... Is the Repub warhawks song now BOMB, BOMB, BOMB, BOMB, BOMB RUSSIA?
So what is the answer?
Do we invade Russia? Or send over a couple of nukes?
I hear a lot of folks talking big- but haven't heard any specific answers...

It's not what a U.S. President should do, it's what any other foreign power might "PERCEIVE" him to do.
Bluffs have been played out in foreign policy many, many times.
But when you have a Pres. that everyone knows won't call a "Bluff", you're in deep chit. We have one of those............................
If McCain was Pres. and had warned Putin that he was sending battle groups to the Ukraine to engage if necessary, Putin would believe him. For sure.
Get the drift?
Actually no, I don't think he could figure that out. :lol:Big Muddy rancher said:Mike said:Maybe Buckwheat picking the top 4 seeds in the NCAA Tourney to be in the "Final 4" will impress Putin so much he will withdraw from Crimea & Ukraine, throw his hands up and back off like the USSR did with Reagan?

You would think with all his years in Law enforcement that he would have figured out that the sight of the police car with lights on top along the hiway slows many more cars then one sitting in front of the beer parlor. :?

I am not sure how you missed it.. but so far obama and crew have stuck their noses in about every conflict going on now..
Obama couldn't figure out a way to leave Iraq in better shape so he just left.. (same thing is now happening in Afghanistan.. )
they were training and coordinating the arab spring..
they meddled in Syria.. and now the Ukraine...
they have their little fingers in there poking and prodding.. but when s*** hit the fan .. they go to a fundraiser and another round of golf..
Obama has made this one very unsafe world..
here is the short list of countries that are now considered unstable / fragile.. or already failed..
Tunisia
Algeria
Jordan
Egypt
Yemen
Somalia
Sudan
Iraq
Libya
Syria
Ukraine
yep,.. you should be proud of the guy you voted for .. sure can start a good war and then just walks away ...
Foreign Policy
In his campaign for the Libertarian Party nomination, he stated he opposed foreign wars and pledged to cut the military budget by 43 percent in his first term as president. He would cut the military's overseas bases, uniformed and civilian personnel, research and development, intelligence, and nuclear weapons programs. He has stated his opposition to US involvement in the War in Afghanistan and opposed the US involvement in the Libyan Civil War. He has stated that he does not believe Iran is a military threat, would use his presidential power to prevent Israel from attacking Iran, and would not follow Israel, or any other ally, into a war that it had initiated.
Maintaining a strong national defense is the most basic of the federal government’s responsibilities. However, building schools, roads, and hospitals in other countries are not among those basic obligations. Yet that is exactly what we have been doing for much of the past 10 years.
Given trillion-dollar deficits, America simply cannot afford to be engaged in foreign policy programs that are not clearly protecting U.S. interests. There is nation-building and rebuilding to be done right here at home.
Our military should remain the most potent force for good on Earth. To do this, we should resort to military action as the last option and only as provided in the Constitution.
Bring the Troops Home
AMERICAN MILITARY ACTIVITIES IN AFGHANISTAN SHOULD END, our troops returned home, and the focus of our foreign policy reoriented toward the protection of U.S. citizens and interests.
With Osama bin Laden now killed and after 10 years of fighting, U.S. forces should leave Afghanistan's challenges to the Afghan people.
Decades after the collapse of the Soviet Union, American troops remain scattered throughout Europe. It is time to reevaluate these deployments.
The U.S. must make better use of strategic alliances which allow greater sharing of the human and financial burdens at less cost of protecting national interests.

What do you do when they call your bluff- invade Crimea ? Bomb Russia?... Go back to the MAD policy - MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION ?...
I think keep our nose out of it- and go along with any trade restrictions Europe goes with (useless if we put them on and everyone else doesn't) - and let the Russian oligarch's that actually pull Putins puppet strings handle it when its starts pulling at their pursestrings...
