A big part of our lives left today. Thomas was our middle dog, the friend, the character, the instigator and the most loving dog you could ever know. Not the best cowdog but he did his best to help.

He started going down hill this fall, Retaining water, peeing on the floor in his sleep and then a growth started on his head. Today he couldn't open his mouth to eat so Debbie and I made the decision to say Goodbye

He is buried on his favourite hill in the calving yard where he would lie and supervise until called for help or to end the day.

The keyboard is getting wet now so I'll sign off for a bit.

We feel for you and Debbie. It's like losing a favorite family member.
You were his friend to the end and did the right thing. Enjoy the memories when the hurting stops.

Thanks, it was a tough day yesterday and will be for a while yet.

A friend sent us this....

Saying goodbye to a pet is truly one of our worst days ...

I explained to St. Peter,
I'd rather stay here,
Outside the Pearly Gate.
I won't be a nuisance,
I won't even bark,
I'll be very patient and wait.
I'll be here chewing on a celestial bone,
No matter how long you may be.
I'd miss you so much, if I went in alone,
it wouldn't be Heaven for me...
