Thoughts on replacement heifers

I believe no one has ever walked through their cattle and said "This is my favorite cow" I think I'll take her to the sale barn today.

True story!

However, we had the good fortune to work with a landowner (he was better at owning land than he was owning cattle) and he
ran his cows in a grass/cake operation. He did not want the cows checked on immediately after a storm. "Wait a few days so
they have a chance to fill up a little", etc.

If he saw a good-doing cow, he'd look her over and say, "By golly, she looks good.
We better take her to town, she'll bring a lot of money." :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
