I have also done the bleach thing but I didn't soak em ...I don't have time for that..lol....1 part bleach 2 parts water and put it in an old dishsoap bottle, clean the hoof as good as you can, then give the frog a good squirting. I did it twice a day for a week( 7 day week) and really by day 5 I could have stopped but I wanted to be "safe"
I have also used off brand athlete's foot cream ( thrush is a fungus, so is athlete's foot) Read the lable and follow...some say once a day others say twice a day...I buy the once a day type ( the types do have diff. med. in them) I use it for about a week and it clears it up and the cream seems to stay in/on the hoof well, unless the footing the horse will be in is deep.
I'm sure you know if you can give the ol guy a nice dry place to stand for a few days that will really help out a ton while your treating it..
That other store bought stuff that is like epoxy is AWESOME it works great and it's easy to use.....heres a link to the stuff I have used....
