Real hot today ,over 100* not much rain but lots of lightening.

103 on the river today- 101 at the weather bureau...Still 89 with 20-30 mph wind blowing...Hear thunder and see lightning, but still no moisture...Just kind of fades away when it gets to us...

After my Doctors appointment this aftrnoon - the pickup thermometer showed 112 from the radiant heat of the parking lot...

In looking at Glasgows weather service website their Doppler radar shows that some places in the Assiniboia area could have received 4-5"- also over south of Swift Current....What I wouldn't give for that...

We can't even get a decent cloud.

I heard today that it is just terrible east of Lemmon, SD and into
the Faith, SD area. Then down to McIntosh.

Darn, I wish it would start raining.

I got rained out again today three tenths, I would be glad to send it to someone else for a week or so.

We'll take it---We ended up with nothing- not even the smell of rain- just lightning...Stayed up and drove around until the wee hours looking for fires...Was going to go up early this morning and check the water situation in the Community pasture, but ran into one of the guys that runs in there and he says he was just there and it still isn't too bad :) Don't like driving around the pastures in this weather anyway...Supposed to be 100 again today- but at least the wind has gone down...

We got the thunder, lightening, and wind. Not much rain, and we are actually looking for some. This nonstop heat is starting to take it's toll on some of the crops around here.

We had a wonderful lightshow last night and enough rain to knock the dishes out for the night.. How much rain... I don't know, my rain gauge was laying almost parrelel to the ground... In side of it was .85 inchs and it was stll raiing... Puddles in a few fields where we have compaction issues and muddy pups running around the yard.. Is there anything finer?

I had to haul my mechanical horse into the dealer this afternoon because of a charging problem since we're almost done with this round of irrigating- talked to a neighbor at the waterhole that said he had lost 2 good saddle horses last night because of the lightning...Many didn't even know there was lightning in the country because there was little thunder- but my old dogs that can pick it up 100 miles away had told me different...

OT that makes me laugh to hear you say that you drive around looking for fires,we have juniper and cedar so bad around here that when it storms we go to town and try to get the fire dept. drunk!!!!!  BLM has done 2 controlled burns with one more scheduled for this Aug. we'll see you know them they have to have meetings to plan more meetings.

Last controlled burn the BLM had around here got away so bad they had to bring in planes to contain it   - that was about 10 years ago, and they have been a lot more careful lately....

Going to be a cooker today- Stopped swathing about an hour ago because the temp is already up to 98 at 11AM-- radio said it was 90 at 8AM-- Weather boys are predicting 103-105 for today...Going to cook everything...I see all of eastern Montana is under a Red Flag fire watch...
