NONOTHING...our soldiers go to duty,in uniforms, leave thier families, lots with young children to defend our country and our freedom! In Iraq they don't know if they guy walking beside them is a civilian, soldier or suicide bomber. When they go to duty and leave thier families they don't know if they will ever see thier loved ones again! These people are heros in my eyes, they are doing thier job as you say but do you face any of the aboved mentioned when you face a day at the office?Maybe you do if your a policeman or firefighter...also heros! I don't know if the Iraq soldiers are heros in thier own country but they aren't in ours or the U.S.A!!!

Mrs Greg with all due respect,we are not fighting for freedom. If you want to say we are fighting the terriost that attack north america....we are in afganistan were bin ladin and his group were/are hunkered down, with taliban support....If you believe that the Iraq war in any way (other then death) is like WWI or WWII,you may want to prove that.....If all soldiers, police and fireman are hero's,which you seem to believe,am I to assume that some are just more heroic than others?...I just see that the word HERO is no longer special,if it is just your job that makes you a hero, then i guess i best just get used to the latest critiria...not sure the soldiers of veitnam felt like hero's at home, and they were soldiers.(but again,I was not there so maybe they were considered hero's by all,my understanding is they were not.).Just my opinion but feel free to trash on me.............P.S. i do believe not all millitary missions using our own soldiers are, acted out in uniform.

NONOTHING,I guess we have to agree to disagree.I also hope to God you don't believe your statement about the word Hero is no longer special because there are alot of Heros in our country and our nieghboring country, whether they are soldiers, firemen, policemen or civilians. You need to keep consistent with your posts...you were upset our PM didn't allow coverage at Soldiers funerals, and were impressed by our fallen R.C.M.P funeral coverage. Now are they your heros or not,you confuse me :???:

Dis, you should just GIVE IT UP.

Not likely.

Your brand of brain-washing just isn't working here.

I'm putting facts that many people don't know out here. Whether they choose to use them or not is completely up to them. But I do think I've made a few people think twice about the Iraqi war.

Even if I haven't, just pointing out the article didn't say Mr. Thune was a Republican was worth spending some time on this board.

Anything I write here about hero's I will be attacked for?I guess the question would be.If dieng in the act of duty makes a hero, would a construction worker who slips and falls to his death building a hospital, fire station or police station also be a hero?I guess I look at it like this, would you look upon your self as a hero doing any of those chosen fields of work? Or would it be part of your chosen duty. Many postions and carreer fields can put you in postion to be a hero, but is hero status atuomatic?Mrs Greg I mentioned many questions to you in my last thread, you chose to act on a certain one.Would that mean the rest I said you agreed with?
