Time to debate

These are the words of Cattlearmy
Palin put herself in the public eye and also her family by running. What does one expect when running for public office that nobody is going to pick on you? None of us want our children picked at for decisions we make, however, she had to know they would bring her family into debates

Since Biden put himself and his family into the public eye by running I say let's lay off Palin and debate Biden's family
Here is what I found on a few google searches.
First his wife, sorry I see she is a real go getter, the only thing google can find on Jill Biden was Post election Jill gave Joe a german Sheppard and got heck from animal right activists because it wasn’t from a shelter. But don't fret all is right with the world now, as Jill is to apparently appeasing them as now the Biden’s are getting a second dog, a puppy from a pound. earth shaking isn’t it. I asked WIKI answers.com what Jill’s occupation was and they don’t even know.

Now for the Son just a bit more fruitful here for a debate

3 October 2008

Barack Obama's vice-presidential pick complicates the Democratic
hopeful's efforts to distance himself from a far-reaching Chicago
patronage scandal.

Vice-presidential candidate Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del. (left), has been
advised since 1984 by Joseph Cari (right), the Chicago lawyer and
onetime mega-fundraiser who has been tied to the Antoin "Tony" Rezko
patronage scandal.
(ABC News)Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., brings to Obama's presidential
campaign assets like foreign policy experience and a knowledge of
Washington. But he also brings another tie to the Antoin "Tony" Rezko
scandal, a mess that has already caused sizeable headaches for the
Obama campaign.

Chicago lawyer and onetime mega-fundraiser Joseph Cari has advised
Biden and his campaigns on and off since 1984, serving in posts as
varied as a Senate adviser on crime to the Midwest Political Director
for Biden's aborted 1987 presidential bid. In 2005 Cari helped arrange
private meetings for Biden with potential supporters, as the senator
explored another run for the White House. He has also worked to raise
money for Biden.

*****
A son and a brother of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) are accused
in two lawsuits of defrauding a former business partner and an
investor of millions of dollars in a hedge fund deal that went sour,
court records show.

The Democratic vice presidential candidate's son Hunter, 38, and
brother James, 59, assert instead that their former partner defrauded
them by misrepresenting his experience in the hedge fund industry and
recommending that they hire a lawyer with felony convictions.

The legal actions have been playing out in New York State Supreme
Court since 2007, and they focus on Hunter and James Biden's
involvement in Paradigm Companies LLC, a hedge fund group. Hunter
Biden, a Washington lobbyist, briefly served as president of the firm.

A lawsuit filed by their former partner Anthony Lotito Jr. asserts in
court papers that the deal was crafted to get Hunter Biden out of
lobbying because his father was concerned about the impact it would
have on his bid for the White House. Biden was running for the
Democratic nomination at the time the suit was filed.

Hunter Biden was made president with an annual salary of $1.2 million,
despite his inexperience in the hedge fund industry, the lawsuit said.
Before that, he had been part of the Washington law firm Oldaker,
Biden & Belair, which earned $1.76 million in lobbying revenue in the
first half of 2006, according to Congressional Quarterly's CQ
MoneyLine. One of its biggest clients is the National Association of
Shareholder and Consumer Attorneys, a District-based group
representing law firms specializing in investment and corporate law.

Hunter Biden is one of many children and relatives of prominent
members of Congress who have made their careers as lobbyists. He
returned to lobbying after less than a year with Paradigm.

Lotito's lawsuit alleges that James Biden called him in January 2006
to arrange a job for Hunter Biden. It says James Biden told him that
his brother (Sen. Biden) "was concerned with the impact that Hunter's
lobbying activities might have on his expected campaign for the 2008
Democratic presidential nomination," and, "Biden told Lotito that, in
light of these concerns, his brother had asked him to seek Lotito's
assistance in finding employment for Hunter in a non-lobbying
capacity."

Lotito does not provide any direct evidence of the senator's
involvement and offers no witnesses to the assertion.

The campaign of Sens. Barack Obama and Biden declined to comment on
the case, referring questions to Nicholas Gravante Jr., a lawyer
representing Hunter and James Biden. Gravante said assertions that
Joseph Biden told his brother he was concerned about his son's
lobbying are "absolutely false."

"This lawsuit has nothing to do with Joe Biden, and there is
absolutely no truth to those allegations," Gravante said. "It is a
business dispute between former partners. The suit is baseless."

Brian C. Wille, an attorney for Lotito, said the lawsuit alleges no
wrongdoing by Sen. Biden, only that his concerns set in motion the
business deal.

"There was a concern that Hunter Biden's role as a lobbyist would have
an impact on the senator's proposed presidential run," Wille said.
"That's what James Biden told Mr. Lotito. . . . Was it true? Who
knows? There is no allegation the senator was involved in any of these
events."

In an affidavit, Hunter Biden said his father had nothing to do with
the deal and that it is Lotito who swindled the Bidens.

He said Lotito lied about being a "fully licensed and accredited
securities professional" with hedge fund experience.

In addition, he said Lotito recommended a lawyer to vet the business
deal who was under investigation and was ultimately convicted on
several felony charges of conspiracy and wire and mail fraud in a
scheme to steal millions from a computer company.

In the hedge fund business deal, Lotito and the Bidens created a
company called LLB Holdings USA and together agreed to pay $21.3
million for 54 percent interest in Paradigm.

In the lawsuit, Lotito said that soon after creating LLB, the Bidens
crafted a "secret deal" to create their own company that was designed
to buy out his shares in Paradigm for a low rate, to which he agreed.
He said he knew nothing of the secret deal until later and now
believes he was defrauded out of millions of dollars and his share in
the company.

In the second lawsuit against the Bidens, which was filed in June,
Lotito is also named as a defendant. Stephane Farouze, now an
executive with Deutsche Bank, seeks $10 million, saying the Bidens and
Lotito promised to buy his shares in the hedge fund company but
reneged

Gee ties to Chicago scandal, Secret deals, high paying job with no experience for a family member, lawsuits, refusal to answer questions pertaining to private issues, I can see why Obama picked Biden seems like a prefect fit. Have to wonder if the lawyer that vetted this business deal was the same one that vetted Obama and Biden before the election? . How many voters do you think knew this via the MSM before election night? I only heard about it the other day. In fact the MSM stayed so far away from Biden and his family I wasn’t even sure Obama had a running mate let alone that he had a 38 year old son named Hunter.

Now for the 21 year old daughter named Ashley

According to the Los Angeles Times, the daughter of Sen. Joe Biden ( yes, that Biden, Barack Obama’s running mate) was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside one of “those” Chicago bars.
Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of “friends” on a North Side Chicago street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at an officer, police said.

When police tried to arrest that other person, Ashley blocked the officer’s path and made intimidating statements, about who she was, who her father was, and the like, and generally tried to block the officer from arresting Ashley’s “friend”/”acquaintance”, the police officer said.

Miss Biden was later released and is scheduled for court on September 20th.

Sen. Biden’s spokeswoman, Margaret Aitken, declined to comment, calling it a “private, family matter”.

21 years old drunk that uses her daddy's postition in the US government to get out of trouble in Corrupt Chicago. Maybe she should have used Obama's name instead since he was the one that actually knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody from the neighborhood. I wonder what one of “those” bars means.
Maybe we should look up what her boyfriends mother is up to, anybody know his name. :?

...other candidate.

I guess you've been away for the last few months? Joe Biden, if that's who you want to debate, is the Vice President of the United Sates - Elect. Not a "candidate" for anything.

Seven days and counting.

As for Palin's family, it was McCain who brought them into the campaign. His campaign released the statement about the daughter's pregnancy. Once it was in the spotlight, it was fair game, though I don't remember Obama or Biden using it in any way during their campaign. They didn't have to: the lovely Sarah opened her mouth and gave them all the ammunition they needed against her.

Then, of course, there were the clothes for Palin family members that were illegally bought with campaign funds. Sorry, but illegal use of campaign funds is fair game in any campaign.

BTW, I'm not going to take the time/trouble to look up the arrests of the Bush daughters or how they tried to use their Secret Service agents to buy liquor before they were of age, but the stories are there.

NO NO NO Biden put himself in the limelight and doing so he put his family there according to CattleArmy. so this thread is about his indicted son and drunken daughter not Palin  :x

Biden made a complete fool of himself on wind generation. Once he got informed, he did recant his statements.

You now know what Biden made of - shooting from the hip the way he did and basing decisions on some other fools who don't know what they are talking about. Of coruse, the media sat there the whole time nodding along since they are just as dumb.

I don't care about Palin's daughter...I don't care about Biden's kids. That is peripheral, gossipy stuff. All I care about is getting this country turned around and healthy.

Gee Palin works out of the home and her son joins the army and goes to Iraq and her teenage daughter gets pregnant and plans to marry the father and she is to stay home and take care of her family so maybe these horrible these would not have happened.
Biden's wife works out of the home and her son is indicted for fraud and daughter drinks and gets arrested after yelling at the cops about who her daddy is. Maybe Jill should have stayed home.

where were you when palin was in the spotlight calling everything trivial? By the way alice I guess I missed where you apologized about lying on me and saying I had sent you threatening pms. Oh wait that was probably a trivial lie by u.

Talk about dishing it out of both sides of the mouth. What a hoot :!:

This this is why threads get so far off topic. The thread was first called "Time to debate the other candidate" and fff only sees and replies to the fact Biden is no longer "the candidate" and goes off on Palin. I change the title so it doesn't distract from the topic again. Then Alice comes on and says she doesn't care about this topic and Sandman comes on and takes a swipe at Alice for something she said on another thread. To Alice I say, then sit on the sidelines until you can add to the DEBATE. To Sandman I say Please help keep this debate about Biden and his family. :help:

Obama Sought More Than $3.4 Million In Earmarks For Clients Of Lobbyist Hunter Biden. "Sen. Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, records show. Obama succeeded in getting $192,000 for one of the clients, St. Xavier University in suburban Chicago." (James V. Grimaldi and Kimberly Kindy, "Obama, Biden's Son Linked By Earmarks," The Washington Post, 8/27/08)

Until you and hyop start putting links to actual news reports from respected and valid media in your posts, they're simply hot air.

As for Biden, there's nothing to debate. He ran, the American people voted for him and in just a very few days he'll be the Vice President of the United States of America.

Sarah Palin's family is just fine. No one destroyed her family. She apparently has wider political ambitions than Governor of Alaska. I say she should go for it. I, personally, support Sarah Palin for the Republican presidental candidate in 2012. :D Why? Because there are all those news clips of her interviews from this campaign. And I'm very interested in who paid for the birth of her first grandchild? That would surely come out in another campaign, along with whether her position got the baby's daddy a sweet job that normally has a long waiting list and goes to people with a high school diploma (which he doesn't have). Guess I'll just have to wait a few years for those answers. :D

Bill Bennett- the old Repub summed it up best yesterday....Sister Sarah should shut up- go home- do her job as a Governor- and unless it involves that job shouldn't be granting anymore interviews...And the press should honor that....

Shes doing herself and the Party no good with her whining and blaming...

But thats hard to do- when you've gone out and hired a P/R firm and asked them to make you a celebrity and your name a household word :?

Democrats are loving Palin and the constant attention she's getting from the media. The more she trys to spin what went on in the campaign, the more effective those actual interview clips will be when/if she runs for a national office again. She has a tough road ahead of her if she actually wants to be President. She's young, but even if she spends a few years in the US Senate/House before she makes a run for President, it'll be a tough road to overcome the first impression she made on most of us. :D
