“I’ve come to Europe this week to renew our partnership,” Obama said.

In America, there’s a failure to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world,” Obama said.

Instead of celebrating Europe’s dynamic union and seeking to work with you, Obama said, “there have been times where America’s shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.“

“We got sidetracked by Iraq and we have not fully recovered that initial insight that we have a mutual interest in ensuring that organizations like al-Qaida cannot operate,“ he said. “I think it is important for Europe to understand that even though I am president and George Bush is not president, al-Qaida is still a threat.”

Is this what the President of the US should be saying on foreign soil about the US and a former President?

he's only saying what the europeans have been thinking so it might be the 'reset' for new dialogue.

That arrogance was earned with the BLOOD of our soliders in 2 World Wars, military conflicts, ploice actions and other events where a leader sought to tramp on the civial rights and liberties of the people of another country.
HOW DARE he belittle their sacrifice

So Soldiers in other countries of the world who fought along side are to stand aside and let America be arrogant while there country men are not....Sometimes I really do think some of you think yourself's better then the rest of the world.....I thought the blood given was so freedom was obtained for all fighting..This is the first time I heard it was so that people of a USA can speak less of everyone else in the world...So by your words the blood of my grandfather is meaningless?.Its people like you that give the rest a bad name....FU...

'“We got sidetracked by Iraq"

I wonder how popular that comment is with the military and the families of those who died in Iraq.

Do you mean over-charged?

What would you do if our leader went to a foreign country and bad mouthed Canada Don? I for one would not be very proud of him.

It is the President of the US's duty to show his pride for the country he is suppose to be representing and show them why they are WRONG. It is not his place to slam the former President and call the US names. If anyone is arrogant it is OBAMA, it is time this guy shuts the hell up and stops making the US enemies think the US is weak and willing to bow to the leaders that fund terrorists. :x

BTW arrogance in your eyes Don is PRIDE in some peoples eyes.

And my goodness I would have to Say nonothing just made another nasty NEGITIVE post what does that make for you nonothing. 2555 nasty 2 not so bad.

I think you can see why the military acted like they did when Bush greeted them compared to the greeting they gave Obama in the You Tube video that was posted here on Ranchers a while back. Bush was proud of them and the job they were doing and showed his pride and Obama

so it's unamerican for a president to say mistakes have been made? maybe some should lose the 'amerika uber alles' attitude. bush had it and it alienated the rest of the world. the duty of the american president should be to lead the usa, not be an azzhole to the rest of the world. i read a long time ago the american republic was healthiest when americans respected the office of president but did not automatically respect the man occupying the office. it makes sense. bush had the with me or against me attitude and you can see the divide in america today. if it continues i think the usa is so screwed because it will fail from within. i think tam and mssage should reflect on what countries in europe, africa, asia, great britain as well as the americas have given the world over centuries not just the last few decades. get some perspective on how the world works.

I would just like to point out ,that MsSage has pm'd me and explained her point .She has stated she holds our countries soldiers in high regards.I think in her defence, she may of re-writen her post differently..So I just wanted those here who got upset by what she wrote to not feel bad for thier responses as I do not ,but to cut MsSage some slack as she did explain her feelings in her pm's to me much better and it was without arrogance as well.....

Don't be a ninny. He needs the Europeans to pitch in in Afghanistan as well as in working the economic crisis. We WANT the Europeans to send soldiers and help keep al-Qaeda on the run and out of Afghanistan. You object to that? You can't get European cooperation by spitting on them from afar.

The US was not the only one that Obama bad monthed in his speech he also had a few comments for the European Union about being Anti American. I just couldn't find print transcript to that part.
