Very beautiful picture, Jigger Boss. I especially like the red cows behind the frosty weeds. Keep clickin' that camera.

Hey, I finally saw one! It was just west of Vanderhoof. It was huge and seemed to be rubbing its but on a tree,

LOL, for those that don't know, I have never seen a Live Moose Before. i have been to Alaska three times a week each on business. I saw all these signs with the count of how many moose had been killed in Auto Accidents. It was like it was saying, "Gawd, if you can't see them you must be blind! They are all over"....

And, I used to be a pretty good hunter, so it was kind of getting to me.

Thanks Jiggerboss,

Peach Blossom, the Kosmo Kid, and I were in Alaska for a week in early August, 2005. We had a wonderful fly-in overnight fishing trip to beautiful Lake Chalutna, nestled in the mountains about 50 miles west of Talkeetna. The lake looked to be about seven miles long and a mile or so wide. As far as I know, the three of us and our guide were the only human inhabitation on the lake. While there we saw a bear high up on the hillside.

During the course of the week we drove from Anchorage to Fairbanks. After turning in our rented car at Fairbanks, we returned to Anchorage via the train. Traveling through all of this big wilderness country of spectacularly beautiful mountain scenery, the ironic part was that the only moose we saw on the whole trip was near the tarmack at the Anchorage airport. He was a big burly bull with a wide rack of antlers. Our taxi driver had spotted this moose earlier that morning and detoured us around to see the peacefully grazing animal.

Very pretty pics....you guys must have had some serious fog to get that hoar frost.

Actually we haven't had any fog other than what you can see up high on the hills. Its been cold and damp though.

Interesting,it must be pretty damp there, the ONLY time we get that kind of frost is after a fog....which reminds me we haven't had this year, very unusual.

You guys don't have to go to Alaska to see moose,we have so many moose here in central Alta. its almost a daily sighting :?

I've only had one encounter with a moose and that ENOUGH for me.

It was May at a ranch just on the edge of Yellowstone Park. It must've been a cow...but I didn't slow down to ck.

Moose saw me, I saw Moose ......and the race was on.

Lucky for me there was a pickup nearby and I bailed into the bed of the truck and laid down. It kinda stomped and snorted around for a bit....then went back in the direction it came from.

That's all the moose I want to ever see again!!!!

Even here, in the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan, we have moose. See them on and off through the summer and fall.

Beautiful pictures...great for a photographer...not so fun for a rancher. I've never seen a real moose in person either..hope to do that someday! But in the meantime, your picture is excellent of him/her...thanks
