Jassy, I really enjoy your pictures. I especially like the one of your husband cutting hay. I am curious as to the model of the Farmall tractor.
I'd guess it's a 706. Looks to be in good shape. How many hours on it ?

Can I ask a silly question? Instead of mowing, why wouldn't you cut with a haybine, or at least a swather? It would pretty much eliminate the job of raking it together into a swath.

Thanks for the compliments..but you sure ask tuff questions for this blond to answer...

The tractors are all hydros...and I have no clue how many hours they have on them...alot! We've run them for about 10yrs now, with not to many major problems...

Hay has been mowed on this ranch with mowers since the beginning of time, and my guess would be that it's a tradition more than convenience. It was a sad day when we finally quit putting up stacks about 6 yrs ago. Hubby just likes the mowers I guess..and yes they're dbl 9ft. mowers...and they work great.

Now don't quote me on all my answers...I'm just the photographer..lol

Here's a couple different shots of the tractors and mowers...maybe they'll explain more than I can..I did find out that the 4 mower tractors are 656 Hydro's!
